In fare rules they say one free change but actually it's unlimited as of now. I have changed my ticket multiple times since November without any change fee.
And I'm still waiting for refund for cancellation in October. Isn't there a time limit within which you can extend? For my ticket it was 31 December last year. For the new bookings it is up to March, I guess.

Hi @legalfalcon,
Since immediate family members dont need AL to travel.
Can my wife and son travel after 2-3 days of my canada landing with my CoPR paper copy?

Since i have travel exemption for travel and not my dependents.

Is it possible for an expired CoPR holder approved prior to March 18, 2020 to travel with new documents with issuance date after March 18, 2020?
GC key account shows final decision date as the latest one. Only trace of application approved prior to March 18, 2020 is counterfoil and first CoPR. Old counterfoil details do exist in account.

YEs, you are exempt, just carry your old COPR or a proof that you were issued a COPR prior to March 18.

You have to provide a little background. What is your status in Canada, where is your family travelling from and what is their status in Canada?

Only the immediate family members of PR and Canadian Citizens do not need AL.

Hi @legalfalcon ,
I have CoPR and PRV approved in October 2020 and valid till sep 2021. I also have travel exemption approval as my mother is Canadian PR.
My wife and son also have same CoPR and PRV validity but they dont have travel exemption approval.
So i am planning to move to Canada from Germany in march and 2-3 days later my wife and kid to travel as being my immediate family members they will not need AL.

Our copr expired in April 2020 and we informed IRCC we can’t travel because of covid and they extended automatically our medical to April 2021. Now we are expecting our first kid who is due in April 2021 and being pregnant we can’t travel now before the new medical expiration date . In this scenario , even after kid is born , we probably need sometime as we need to get kids usa passport and other stuff like adding kid to application and all which might take 3-5 months after kids birth .

With this scenario , should I go ahead and request IRCC to re extend the medical or give a new medical date or other alternative ? Will they even consider this ?

Any helpful suggestions are welcome

Sure, you can try. The whole travel exemption is a new set of rules and do not have much precedent. Just make sure that you provide a copy of your stamped COPR to your spouse and child so that they can show If asked.

My profile got update with the new counterfoil on Thursday 7 Jan. I need to travel within the next week. Can i proceed without the AL mail?
My original COPR was issued before march 18 and the new one is expiring on 27 Feb. Please experts share your thoughts.

hey guys I too just got an update on my IRCC account todaay that i just checked .They have updated my COPR counterfoil details only till Feb 27th, 2020. I too didnt receive any 4pt/ 7pt email, no remed request, no regret mail , nothing just the generic replies to 4 RTT webforms that i sent in Aug-Sept-Oct-Nov. When will we receive our ALs?? Such a short period of extension they have provided.
Have you received your AL?

You cant travel with the expired CoPR if you have not received the AL. Just online update of CoPR cant be used for travelling.

I might be wrong, it seems that your CoPR is issued based on your current meds by giving 6 months extension to them? Why would new CoPR is issued with such a short term validity?

Better to raise a webform or call IRCC for update. Anyways be ready to travel as soon as AL is issued to you.
