Hello. I am a student in canada from last one year and this last semester I went on academic suspension. I want to sponsor my husband’s open work permit. Can anyone please tell me that whether you can apply while on suspension and if yes, what documents are required?

The suspension was for not achieving academic standings and this is for 12 months but because this is my first suspension there is an exam taken by the college and if you pass this exam you can rejoin after 4 months

Wow, 12 months seems harsh. Do they give a warning before they actually suspend ? You need to check if this suspension is notified to IRCC? If yes then you probably wont be able to apply for SOWP as you would not be considered a bonafied student which is a requirement to apply for SOWP.

You will not even be eligible for a PGWP as you need to maintain full time status.
