I completed my 12th in 2015 and after that I failed to qualify the engineering exam and then I stayed at home for 2 years to choose a proper course and preparing for it and then from 2017-2020 I completed my graduation in hospitality and tourism with 74% marks and got 7.5 bands in IELTS. I already have an offer letter from 2 colleges but my concern is if I will be granted a study visa or not!! Please guide me someone, I am bewildered at the moment..

The best you can do is explain that gap in your SOP. There are people on this very forum who've got their visas with a gap in their academic history. But your SOP needs to be really strong.

I m preparing sop but my concern is how I will get it covered ..I need to talk to someone who got visa with Same issue!!

The gap isn't as much the issue but explaining why you need to come to Canada for an education and how it will lead to career progression in your home country.

People misguiding me a lot and giving me negative vibes that my visa might get rejected..lot of people with lot of opinions...I am scared at the moment

this gap is before ur last degree ? i cant imagine why anyone would care about that.
I suggest to not care about this gap, mention it in passing in your sop, but ur major focus shud be on the program u have chosen in canada. if its relevant to you, and you can defend its choice.

You joined today and you have received two comments. That is not a lot of opinions. Not negative but reality. You need to show proof of funds, you need to show career progression etc. Gap is not really the issue

Thanks a lot for giving some helpful advice..........I have chosen same course that is relevant to my previous course..and I am pretty much determined, but the consultancy people are confusing me a lot

dont go for consultancy or agents, please. ask advice on this forum and to people who have themselves gone through this process, and do your own research.

I came here because I never met anyone with a year gap of 2 years between 12th and graduation..who got his visa. You know I have lot to discuss because the people who r already in Canada can guide me well..

I have 2 years study gap and i applied for student visa and still got an approval

I had 5 years gap, and I'm rn in Canada studying.
As long as you give a valid reason, you're fine.

Brother if I say I just stayed at home and prepared for the exam and then I took admission in 2017 after 2 years.... doesn't it sound suspicious like why u took 2 years to decide your course and all
