PR status query

Hi There, i have been offered a contract job abroad for 6 months. Can anyone confirm how long I am ok to leave the country for? I'm currently on PR status and hope to apply for citizenship once I return from the contract job: ill need 82 days until I have enough time clocked up, upon my return.
Wanted to check that me leaving for just over 6 months wouldn't effect my PR status.
If anyone has any insight, I'd really appreciate it.

Depends on whether or not you would be meeting the residency obligation.

You must be present in Canada for at least 2 years out of every 5 year rolling period. If you can fulfill this requirement with your planned absence, you have nothing to worry about.
