just received pre-arrival letter. [app was submitted Mar 20]. Still haven't completed Medicals and biometrics. [planning to do that next month together]. I am wondering if pre-arrival letter means the eligibility is done, and there is no chance of being called for an interview ?? Only background check is remaining [i.e criminal records, etc.. ?]

Guys did anyone who recently booked Biometric appointment with VAC in India faced below issue?
I got a message on PA phone number saying appointment is booked for 11:30 AM but they also mailed her that she will receive appointment letter in separate e-mail to her registered email address. We got this SMS on Sunday Morning Indian time. But still no mail for appointment letter.Please suggest something there is no way we are able to connect to VAC india.

We got appointment letters two days after we received the email that appointment has been booked and you shall receive appointment letter.
FYI our appointment confirmation mail was sent on Saturday 2pm.
Appointment letter at Monday morning 2pm. (Indian time)
I ll suggest you to wait and drop a mail meanwhile from your registered mail id
GC Key had an application updated....they have started processing PAs background check but ECAS still shows Application Received at VO.

For anyone whos got the pre-arrival letter, based on what just happened to me, the criminal check has just started and you might be asked to do a Canadian criminal record check which obviously adds more time

Our application was received on March 23rd but till now I have not got any updates besides the temporary number that I was given back in August.
When I called during the first week of October, I was told by the agent that my file has been opened but nobody knows if an officer is working on it or not. I have called a few times after that and they are still saying its in prospective stage. I am missing my wife and it is extremely frustrating not knowing whats going on. I really don't know what to do. Why cant they just be more transparent?

Why a Canadian Criminal Record check? If the PA has never come to Canada.
