Family sponsorship and closed work permit renewal.

Hi All,
I’m on a closed work permit and it will expire on June 2021. My employer will renew the work permit but I think they do it 2 months before the expiry , say April 2021.
I have got married recently and my spouse is going to do the family sponsorship for my PR( Inland sponsorship) .
my question is can we start the PR application now and can my employer renew my work permit when my PR application is in process .
Please advise .

Yes, you can start the PR application now itself. It doesn't have any consequence on closed WP renewal.
