Hey guys, my CRS is a 452 and as the express entry route is becoming more and more competitive , how is the route through PG Diploma, wherein basically you do a 1 yr PG diploma in Canada in your field, get work permit for 1 yr and then apply for express entry ? My score would then be 492 ,assuming part time + full time work ex would be 1 yr + in Canada. It's a big gamble, but feasible or not?
I did search for PG diploma route for immigration in this forum , but couldn't find any info.

1 year program is a bad plan. You want to take a 2 year program if your objective is to get PR so that you qualify for a 3 year PGWP.

We see lots of people here take a 1 year program and then get a 1 year PGWP and then fail to get 1 year of skilled Canadian work experience due to challenges / delays in finding a job.

Again, bad plan. Take a 2 year program.

thanks. How is the 2 yr PG diploma route ? (assuming i get 3 yrs of work after the the diploma). I am getting a score of 498 in that scenario (after 5 yrs). Edit *498

2 year PGD is fine in terms of qualifying to immigrate.

The only additional thing you may want to consider is that PDGs are pretty low value to Canadian employers. If you have the funds and can get admission, a Master's is much much better (even if you already have one and then get a second related one).
