Please, help me with advise
My work permit is expiring soon and I am not able to find new LMIA. I know that once my current WP expires I will lose my status as a worker and cannot work but I can apply for restoration of my status, I will have 90 days for that. Question: what status I will be on during this period? What are my rights? Medical plan? Does it call implied status? Thanks a lot

1. If you wish to remain as a visitor after your work permit expires, you apply BEFORE your status expires for an extension as a visitor.
2. if you do that, restoration of status doesn't enter into. You will have implied status as a visitor until a decision is made on your request to remain as a visitor.

Why wouldn't you just change your status to visitor before your status expires? If you don't have a job offer from an employer with LMIA approval there is no point in going out of status and trying to restore your status. You will no longer qualify for healthcare.

Thanks everyone! I just thought I would have 90 more days to search for a new employer with LMIA. And if nothing is found I can apply for restoration on day 85-87
