Guys, Need your opinions pls.

My question is related to minimum income requirement.

My 2019 and 2020 income is $150k+ for each year, my concern is 2018 income. I moved to Canada in August 2018 with a job on Day-1. I used to work for Global firm and was internally transferred to Canada in August 2018. My income was c. $40k just because I worked 4 months in Canada. (My case is different from people who were in Canada and worked full year with $40k income). I just worked 4 months for $40k.

I do understand I DO NOT meet requirements. Question is, what is the real consideration for them: To assess if person will be able to support the family in FUTURE or blindly going by policy? I have no problems in supporting them, just that timing wasn't right for 2018.

One more important factor: I have 2 children. When I moved to Canada, Canadian Government asked me to provide my 2018 income before coming to Canada and they calculated my Child Benefit based on my $170k income (before moving to Canada) and paid me peanuts for 2 years (Totally unfair but that's a different discussion).

Question: Is it fair that I was paid Child Benefit based on $170k income and now when it's time to show higher income, they'll only consider my $40k income?

They provided consideration to COVID, but I am good with COVID also. Would they consider my case?
This is not really a place to discuss if rules are fair.
To answer your question, I think you have to wait till the next PGP where they will consider income from 2019 and on-ward.

Parents and grandparents sponsorship is a long term commitment. It's the future 20 years (some children may not need your support for that long, some could be working or studying with scholarship before that.)

The longer you have lived in Canada, the better equipped you are to help your parents to integrate their new lives here.

i agree with you, this system sucks...

my noa was also +150k for two years, but got zero benefits so far, and i am stuck with this luck-based game again...

im leaving Canada soon, so doesn't matter to me much.
I agree with your decision to not submit interest to sponsor. Specially if you are leaving Canada soon. There is no point of bringing your parents to somewhere that you are not going to stay.

im qualified to submit form this year, which i will do since that is my right.

however i might abandon it even if selected later, to show how bad this system sucks.

Unless they change their system, from previous years experience, there is no easy/straight forward way to check the info.
I think some were able to call when they got the invitation and had some conflicting information.
But I don't think calling is necessary so early. At this point, call centre likely won't have access to that info.

again, I agree that it's your choice and it's nice to others to not apply if you don't intend to proceed all the way.

I think as long as the most important information like names, birthday and your ID and addresses are correct, you are OK.
You can write a letter and explain why there are differences when you get invited and included that in the application.

There is no point in applying. They will return the application.
I had the same case where just 1 year I fell short of $63 because of parental leave. I applied and was selected. And then sent in my application with explanation with hope of consideration
7 months later they returned the application saying I fell short of $63 for 1 year.

I felt bad for having wasted 1 spot for a deserving candidate :(. But I had really hoped they had considered the shortfall of just $63

They will not consider your case. Yes, they will go strictly by policy.

Your application will be automatically refused if your 2018 Canadian Notice of Assessment doesn't meet income requirements.

Child benefits don't fall under immigration and fall under different rules. It may not be fair but that's how it is.

Do you know how an invitation looks like! On the invitation the info that I put would be there!

I can only tell you that the 2018 PGP invitation has very little information in the letter (attached to the email that we received).

It has the name, date of birth and address of the sponsor and an application barcode that is supposed to be printed and include in the actual application.
The application deadline is also included. That's about it.

<hello friends, first of all my apology for posting here as my question is related to PGP 2020( I did not got any reply in that group, so posting here) if anybody can help... my question is as below,.....
I am eligible to apply for PGP 2020, HOPEFULLY if get invited I have following concerns:
1) I do not have my birth certificate( never issued, even during my PR application in 2015 I had submitted non-availability of birth certificate at that time, I landed as PR in 2016), will that be a problem as birth certificate will be required to prove my relationship with my parents in case I get invited for PGP 2020. What are my options/ what documents will suffice?
2) my parents does not have marriage certificate( were married in 1980, never got one). will that cause any issue as marriage certificate will be required to prove principal applicant's relationship with dependents( wife).
P.S.-- My parents visited Canada twice on visitor visa

GUIDE PLEASE... THANKS>

@karamjeeet, Here is my response on this as I know:
(1) Up to now, IRCC is asking Voter's ID, Aadhar Card and School certificates in lieu of valid birth certificates for the applications from India.
(2) To sponsor parents, only sponsors' marriage certificate is being asked not parent's.

Hope this helps.
