I am personally an undergrad but I applied with my husband. Our marriage is shorter than a year, but we did hold corresponding wife and husband student visas while I studied in the US (F1 and F2). Can't say anything about an age, I am 22 and my husband is almost 28.
Keep in mind, you will either both get approved or both get refused. And this is good news since you guys won't be separated. I would honestly raise a webform, but I know for sure your husband should be able to accompany you.

That isn’t correct. If you apply for a study permit first you can get approved and your spouse can be denied later when they approve for an OWP. If you are unwilling to come if your spouse is not able to get an OWP I would apply together. Then you will both get an answer at the same time.

That's what I meant actually :) If you apply both together under one principal applicant (SP applicant) then you both either get approved or refused. But each of you will get separate correspondence if it makes sense
