@YULIA-2016
Please update spreadsheet row 232 for YVR123. We actually got PPR (photocopy of passport requested) back in early March 2020.
But my MIL (the applicant) was really sick and do not planned to proceed. We sent a reply to cancel/stop our application.

Hi All:

Just wanted to get in touch with you and see if anyone else has their application stuck at London Visa Office for their parents.

Here are some details:

Sponsor AOR: December 21, 2018.
Applicant AOR: July 14, 2018 application in London.
December 13, 2019: Medical Request Sent.
January 10, 2020: Medical Received.
Feb 2020: Additional Documents Requested.
Feb 4, 2020: Additional Documents Received

Then Coronavirus hit and we haven't heard anything. It will be 2 years in December 2020; what is the typical duration for parents PR applications?

Is anyone else in a similar situation? When can I expect some more movement on the file?
If it helps, parents hold a Pakistani Passport but live in the middle east.

My case is pretty much the same as yours in terms of timeline. Complete silence after the medical and additional documents received since Feb.
BTW, I'm not expecting anything until the year end at all (that's the way I feel).

Are your parents pakistani passport holders?

@YULIA-2016 Please include my timeline in the spreadsheet. Thank you.

I also want to express my gratitude to people here for all the information available in this forum. I also found IRCC officers have been very kind and helpful as I have made a few mistakes but they were very understanding and helpful. And I hope this sharing will bring some hope that things are progressing. As I do not expect anything at all during this pandemic but I just got PPR this morning.

Here are my timeline and details
Sponsor: One person, my mother from Thailand
Co-sign with my husband
SIN and NOA provided
Province: NB
Invitation to apply: July 31, 2018
Application received: Oct 2nd and Oct 9th, 2018
(Due to the mailing delay at the time, we ended up having two set of documents sent from Thailand and to have them arrive almost at the same time. On Oct 2nd, I submitted what I have with a letter explaining the delay (with tracking info provided). When I have all required documents, I re-submitted everything on Oct 9th, again with a letter explaining everything including tracking info.
Additional documents requested: Nov 8, 2018 (divorce certificate and marriage certificate)
Additional documents submitted: Nov 21, 2018 (divorce certificate and marriage certificate)
AOR: Jan 17, 2019
SA: July 17, 2019
LVO: Singapore
IME and PCC request: Nov 15, 2019
(I link my application but did not understand how to check my progress. So that requests were in my GC unread until I signed in on May 8. 2020. Again, talked with IRCC officer and submitted webform to request additional time)
IME submitted: May 19, 2020
PCC submitted: June 8, 2020
Pre-arrival service letter: July 4, 2020
PPR: Sept 23, 2020

Hi all not sure Im using this thread correctly....but here is my question...input: would appreciate if anyone has experience or info. Thank you. Hi everyone - we are being sponsored in to Canada by our daughter (PR) and her husband (Canadian citizen) - the process was started in September 2018: we are now 3 days off the full 24 months stipulated by CIC online (they say 20-24 month processing time) and we have heard nothing. Calls to CIC produce stock standard responses about Covid and delays. My question is in several parts: 1) anyone else in the same boat with the two year deadline almost up and no word on COPR (or any other comms, either) 2) anyone else managed to get some sort of ball-park idea from CIC or lawyers for immigration on the anticipated "covid" delays to this process? HOW much longer can we expect to wait...? I don't expect exact days here, but would love to have someone give me a ballpark idea instead of the fob off I get from CIC when I query this. 3) our medicals actually EXPIREC end July 20202....and dont know what this will mean for further dleyiong....4) I have seen on other threads that there seems to be confusion about who meets the "immediate family" requirement for entering Canada (upon receipt of COPR) - and it would appear that PARENTS are considered immediate family (as well they ought!) - can anyone confirm, please. 4) we are currently in Canada on extended TRV's (awaiting the approval of yet another 6 month extension) - if I was to leave Canada to fly back to South Africa for a month (whilst waiting for this PR confirmation) is it likely that I will encounter difficulties getting back in (not visa related, so much as Covid related - accepting, of course, the 14 day quarantine, period, which would happen in the basement at my daughter's home, anyway)

We are in a similar position - our application was received 27 September 2018.....and everything has slowed down with Covid...very little feedback online, and the agents, though friendly, just keep saying Covid, Covid when I call CIC to enquire...our medicals EXPIRED end July 2020....and still havent heard what they would like us to do about thta. We are now 3 days off the full 2 year wait they said it would take, and no comms... sorry I cant be more helpful. Have you asked for an ATIP?

Hello,
We have been asked to provide ''police certificates from the country where you’ve spent most of your adult life since the age of 18''.
Can someone please help me to understand what does this mean. It is quite confusing.
Thank you in advance
..you need to get police clearances from your country's police....and also any other country in which you may have lived for more than 6 months. Once you have the Police clearance certificates, you then submit them to CIC....

You need to provide police certificates from all countries your parents have stayed for six months or more.

BTW, which visa office is handling your case?
I would advise that they do, yes....we have lived in several countries other than our home country - and have been asked to submit police clearances (done for all) for each country, including our home country....even for countries where we only lived for 6 months or more...

Hi
Sorry I wouldn’t be able to answer your question but I have a question for you.
I am also from Quebec and my parents were sponsored in 2018. Since medical done in February this year we are in total blackout period.
When was your medical done? And what are the next steps? Is there anything you did to fast track your application?
Thank you.
...wish I could be of more help than to tell you that we had our medicals done in July 2019, and they have expired end July 2020 - and no information forthcoming from CIC on what to do next: we are literally 3 days off the 24 months total wait that is provided on CIC/ IRCC page for this PR process (20-24 months) and there is complete silence form them,....Im waiting for Monday 28 Sept which will be 2 years and a day, to start sending webforms enquiring. When I call CIC in Canada, they go on and on about Covid and delays without actually answering any questions, so not much help there. It would appear there is noting to be done to fast track - unless someone knows of something one can do and will share the info here.

So from your replies, looks like you have:

Medical done July 2019
PCC submitted for all countries stayed for 6 months or more

Was your application transferred to the local visa office? What is your VO?

The 24 months is not any commitment from IRCC. It's just an estimate of average time for the process. Nothing will happen because you have reached Sept 27, 2020 (the 2 years mark). You can sure request GCMS note. (Acutally, I think your sponsor in Canada should request it)

Since the pandemic, a lot of the processing have been put on hold. Some VO has started processing. Some is slower on that.

I think at this point, you can only wait.

Well, you must have heard something for you to get your medical done. So, it's not like "nothing was ever heard" from CIC as you claimed. AOR, DM1 and medical must have came in and were done. The file is stuck just like others due to COVID. I know it's very difficult not knowing what's coming down the pipe and when. So, I can totally understand the fustration.

As for travelling during COVID and returning, I'd advise against it because of the possibility that you may not be allowed to enter Canada. But, I can tell you that parents meet the definition as "immediate family members".
