Hi @legalfalcon

I am a CEC inland applicant , AOR- FEB 12, I have traveled to India in month of March and since then stuck in india due to COVID-19 travel restriction .
I am currently on my PGWP and . Could you please suggest if i need to mention to CIC that i am stuck in India since past few months? As my application is still in process
As per IRCC you have to inform them of you change of country of residence. If you intend on staying in India for a long time, then you should inform since your LVO will then be New Delhi. If IRCC gives you COPR, they will currently consider you as an inland applicant.

Thank you for your reply @legalfalcon I have called IRCC and they said my Eligibility is still in Process and raised GCMS notes , I have made necessary documentations for my travel and will be travelling in October back to CANADA ,
1.Do i still need to raise web form and let them know that i am currently in India and update them once i am back to CANADA ?
2.Or since i am on TRAVEL , just leave it as is as i am any ways travelling back to CANADA in a few weeks, Let me know . Thanks

1. If you are sure of traveling back to Canada, no need to inform. The reason why they ask you to inform IRCC is so that they can send you the PPR with the correct instructions. However, if you are traveling back no need to inform and informing them at this short notice will create more confusion.

2. See 1.

To update your file it has to be in writing. You cannot update you file by calling. You have to send a written request.

The processing time for spousal sponsorship application is 12 months. You are well within this time frame, so no need to worry.

You can travel anywhere and you do not have to inform IRCC.

What happens if you are currently residing outside and got copr as you were in Canada. Does that create any issue ? Or u can simply travel as you would have a work visa and copr?

When you get a COPR, all your other visas are cancelled. Previously for inland applicants, who get the COPR, had to schedule an interview and get all the valid permits with them. When the COPR was given all other existing visas were cancelled.

However, now since IRCC is sending COPR via email due to COVID, you sill should have informed that you are no longer residing in Canda and have move out of Canada.

If you did not, then you can travel on you TRV, but when you land, you will have to complete your formalities, and since your COPR is already active, you may have some answering to do.

So make sure you clarify this with IRCC, as there is no guideline on this, except what people are saying based on anecdotal evidence.

Hi, I have very similar situation. Have you heard anything yet? I feel like they have put US cases on hold since my background check is still not started since March 9th that I gave biometrics!
I raided another webform last week and received the exact same response from them. My response came on the 7th working day. I think it was automated and generic to my previous inquiry

I just witnessed my first ghost update!!! Hopefully it was picked up by an officer and the process has been restarted. Nothing had happened since March 4th 2020!
congratulations, this is perhaps eligibility passed or everything passed.

What do you think what it means when they say the application meets the eligibility requirements?
