Hey! Great to hear of your experience. Thanks a lot for posting!

But you said your program was shifted to January right? So did you travel 4 months before?
yeah it was deferred to jan by college but they cancelled their decision and moved sem to fall again.

You travelled on 24 august Flight? I heard everyone was allowed. Did you see any one being denied entry? Thanks.
right i saw none being denied entry even fully online too.
most officers didn't asked questions.
some officers didn.t eve asked if course is online or about quarantine plan except 2 or 3 officers so its better to be ready for everything as we don't know which officer will our turn come to.

Great! All the best! Thanks a lot for updating here!

Did you have the college travel support letter which said the student's "physical presence is mandatory" ? Does Spicejet need that letter before boarding?

i had the letter with me but no one asked, the agent while booking the ticket asked for it i don't know if he sent it to them or it was for his own satisfaction so that one can't put a blame on him if denied boarding.
rest i remember no one asked for it.

Do you know how many of them were fully online and were they first timers or returning students?

one officer asked for LoA, fees payment, passport, approval letter and gave me study prmit, thats all but its better to go prpared as one or 2 of them were taking seriously every studnt, asking where would you go for quarantine especially at counter 1, 3 at 3 was lady but at 1 was more strict thank god my turn came at 13.
and we don't know to which officer will our turn come to so its better to prepare quarantine plan before arrival.

i am sure about 1 being fully online starting in fall only as i knew that student personally and there would be many , most of them were first time as mostly they were in front of me in the line to get their study permit issued as returning students won't need study permit to be issued again.

plus its better to get front tickets in the plane as it tires too much to be last in every line because deboarding works according to sitting plan and the no. of passengers you know in the plane are mostly students nowadays.

That's really a great news buddy. So, what I understand is that it is all about taking chances on our own. We can't go by what others are experiencing.

Have you guys noticed an update by CIC regarding the definition of non discretionary travel???????

Your travel to Canada may be considered non-discretionary as a student if
  • you already live in Canada
  • you need to be in Canada for your program (for laboratory work, workshops, or similar)
  • your school isn’t offering online study options
  • you can’t study online from your home country because of internet restrictions or bandwidth limitations
  • you can’t participate in live online classes from your home country because of the difference in time zones
Requesting your opinions.

There goes another crucial yet silent update. Why didn't they log it here https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/updates.html ..

Hello Shahin! Have you travelled already? Is there any positive news / information please? Thank you so much!
hiiii,

Yes i reached and in quarantine now (today day 4). Planning travel on weekdays would be a better option instead of weekend...IELTS, admission letter, quarantine plan, fees payment receipt are the main documents along with CAQ (if applicable), LOI, passport being asked..Travelled by Air india for domestic sector and Air Canada for international from Delhi. Travel was safe and good.

All the best
