Hi I have applied for SOWP for my wife on August 9, 2020. Gave the biometrics on August 21, 2020. Currently, portal shows as background check in progress.

Has anyone else who is an international student and applied for SOWP during the month of August 2020, if so we can share our updates here.

Its too early to ask from August people I think. I have applied in May since there is no single update. Anyways, hope for the best.

Pakistan. It's showing 19 Weeks processing time from USA. I wish you would get reply really soon.

Hi, By God's grace, my wife has got approval for the spousal work permit. She'll be sending passport for stamping in few days.

Our time-line was,
The application was done from USA,

August 9, 2020 - Completed online application
August 10, 2020 - She got biometrics request
August 21, 2020 - Completed her biometrics and was updated in portal

Around October 1 - Status changed from application in progress to 'we are reviewing your eligibility'

(During my student visa application time, I remember getting approval message in 2-3 day of this status change) So, I was confident a result will come in few days. Just as expected,

October 7, 2020 - Original passport request

Timetaken from application to PPR - 59 days

Timetaken from biometrics to PPR - 47 days

In IRCC site, the average time shown for people applying from US was 19 weeks.

They will reply you 5 to10 working days

I also thought so. But now 27 days from web form and 16 days passed after GCMS.
I understand that 30 days is the time for GCMS notes and mostly it is received within 5 to 14 days. Indeed 2020 is the worst year until today
