My husband and I had a citizenship application in process when we found out we'd have to move overseas for my husband's academic job training. We requested to keep our application active as our goal always was to return to Canada after his training was done. CIC accepted our request as our application was in it's final stages. We took and passed our exam in Feb. (2015), my son was born in April (abroad), and our oath was in May (all same year- we travelled back and forth). So officially we didn't become citizens until 3 weeks after our son was born. Now the time has come where we are hoping to return and I just want to make sure I will be applying the right way for my son. Am I correct in seeing that we will need to sponsor him for PR? Is this possible while we are still abroad, and will we be able to move back even if his application is still in process? Any input would be greatly appreciated
our youngest was born 2 years ago and has been granted citizenship, so it's unfortunate timing for my son wasn't on our side.
