Okay guys, so today I received an email from IRCC that my application status has been updated. I, therefore, checked my account and found the following status:

"We are processing your application. We will send you a message when there is an update or if we need more information from you.
Your application is taking us longer than usual to process.
About 20% of our applications are more complex to process. They take us longer due to things like how easily we can verify information, how well and how quickly you answer our requests and whether the application is complete.
If you aren't seeing updates, contact us using this Web form. Make sure you read your messages and take action when we ask you to."

Not sure I fully comprehend what that status means as I raised the webform to convey my willingness to travel. My counterfoil expired four months ago and I couldn't travel due to travel restrictions. Has anyone lately received such notification on their profile?
I received exactly same reply becasue my PR processing took more than 6 months but lately nothing like that.

What's the point of opening VAC when embassy remains closed? And embassy staff is the responsibility of Canada whether they're Canadian or local. However, since you've succeeded in finding the real motive of IRCC, are you reconsidering your plans or letting them take you for this ride followed by many more once you reach Canada?
Also, don't compare the situation with USA they have a completely different relationship with each other and Canada relies extensively on US for their day to day life. Instead, look at the Covid situation in India before complaining why NDVO and VACs are not operational. Not to mention that its also the Indian government who has suspended commercial flights so redirect your frustration towards where it belongs.
My general suggestion to you is to have an open mind and look at the positive aspect of the opportunity you're being offered if you really wish to succeed in Canada. Once again, all the best!
I am not sure what benefits you are getting by defending IRCC .
All the best to you man !

I second you. Canada and USA have totally different political & business relationship.
USA can never be compared with any other country.

Opening in September eh! If this is gonna happen then how many people are willing to travel and have first hand experience of Canadian winters?

On a lighter note, I have experienced -35 degree (with wind chill) of Canadian winters and after that I don't feel cold till now. Canada has nose hair freezing weather in winters.
I too am waiting to get an extension and travel with my family but the thought of Time taken to actually getting extensions by Oct-Nov and travelling there into their winter is really scary especially since I will be going wit a 5 yr old toddler. I hope they open at the start of Sept and issue ETAs directly to all expired COPRs. Hoping n Praying.

We don't know what NDVO is planning wrt ETAs. If you check their twitter handle they have mentioned to raise ready to travel webform if you are travelling to settle in Canada at this time.

Along with this they have also mentioned Air Canada is going to schedule direct flights from Delhi to Toronto and Vancouver for whole month of September but they are waiting for approval from Indian Authorities. One can speculate that once these flights are allowed, NDVO would be in better position to issue short term ETAs. If you cant travel within the expiry date of ETA then you are back in the queue for CoPR extension. This experience of ETA issuance is already posted in this thread by someone.

For CoPR extension I think we need to wait for VAC opening which is not happening any time sooner.

This is a typical message when you cross the 6m threshold but usually we won't get an email saying your application is updated.
May I ask your AOR? When did you know your application is approved? Did you already get CoPR?

I received my COPR and Visa late last year. My visa expired in April 20, and I couldn't travel due to covid so I raised a webform to express my willingness to travel. After that my status got changed to the one that I had mentioned in my earlier post.

thank you for your input so your case was approved within 6m I guess.
As you can see in my signature I am Nov AOR applicant and all the Nov cases have that standard language.

Possible, but I hope that is not how NDVO and IRCC think. This could partially be a call on the Covid-19 period monopoly of Air India in operating international flights in and out of India with other countries' carriers still awaiting GoI approval.

Yea i read about it in this thread itself aand also following IRCC and NDVO on twitter and FB waiting for them to update with some good news. Hopefully the Indian Authorities let flights resume and the VACs open in September. I will send in a web form this week about my willingness to travel with a detailed plan. I will post any response i get from them.

Just a question, have other people her who have expired COPRs, and are from India, already sent in webforms for willingness to travel or are you'll waiting for flights to resume and VACs to open next month and will send it in then??
