February 2020 Spousal sponsorship Outland

I have been emailing the minister of immigration for the last 10 day regularly and finally, I received a reply from them:
Dear XXXX:

Thank you for your correspondence of July 3, 2020, addressed to the Honourable Marco E.L. Mendicino, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, concerning your sponsorship undertaking on behalf of your spouse’s application for permanent residence. I have been asked to respond to your concerns.

I understand that you are looking forward to having your spouse join you in Canada. Family reunification is a priority for Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), and every effort is made to complete the processing of partner and spousal applications as quickly as possible. However, spousal sponsorship is a two-step process. The sponsor must be assessed against the requirements of sponsorship, and the foreign national being sponsored must be assessed against the statutory requirements of being in good health and of good character; individuals who want to live permanently in Canada must meet program eligibility requirements, as well as statutory medical, criminality, and security background clearances. These requirements exist to protect the interests and safety of Canadians. The onus rests on applicants to prove that they have met the requirements for entry to Canada or that admission would not be contrary to legislative requirements. In addition, in the case of spouses and partners, the assessing officer must be satisfied that the relationship is genuine and not entered into for immigration purposes only.

IRCC conducts background checks by working together with partner agencies, such as the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, the Canadian Security Intelligence Service, the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), medical authorities, and agencies of foreign governments. Background screening processes are non-discriminatory and universal in their application. Any delays or requirements that the Department’s partner agencies may need in providing input are something over which IRCC has no control.

Departmental records indicate that this application was received on February xx, 2020. The current processing time for applications in this category is approximately 12 months from the date of receipt of the completed application.

Although the impacts of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) have had an effect on the Department’s operations and ability to respond to and process applications, I would like to assure you that IRCC continues to explore options to facilitate processing in these extraordinary times, including finalizing applications virtually, and applicants are contacted by immigration officers should additional information or documentation be required, or as soon as a final decision has been made.

Thank you for taking the time to write. I trust that this information is helpful to you.

Sincerely,

P. MacLeod

Ministerial Enquiries Division

I believe everyone should email the minister and hopefully they will pressurized to restart processing our applications.

VISIT
This is the generic reply I got from Sydney. There is no mention of which batch they are working on. This is hopeless. I dont expect them to start working on spousal apps before 2021. I have already started visit visa app for my partner.

“Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

We verified the information you provided and can confirm that your application is still in process.

Due to the ongoing situation related to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), some IRCC offices are currently operating with reduced or critical staff only.

We are working on processing applications as quickly as possible; however, processing times are affected and any disruption caused by COVID-19 is not reflected accurately on our website. We will make all the necessary efforts to finalize your application as soon as possible.“
This is the same cut copy paste reply i received from IRCC...NO HOPE

VISIT
Exactly, I agree with you. It is nonsense what they are doing. We are supposed to have strong ties in Canada, we are married to our partner, and that's what the app is for, to live together. it's crazy what they do.
Exactly..There is no logic behind their belief

If you would be so kind as to share his email address. You could send it privately if you'd rather not post here. I feel so helpless. :( Thank you

Why is it their policy to lie to us?
Its like the sky is obviously blue but ircc tells you its green. Not 1 outland aor for anyone on this forum/tracker since March means they are not working- not slow, not anything. Why make children out of us feeding us stupid lies! I guess they know we cant do diddly squat about it, so why bother saying the truth and get people angry at them. I wonder how long will people stay calm and do nothing and eat crap with the "we are working on it" lie.
FULLY AGREED no one has even touched piles of packages say hundreds of thousands files R still untouched.. this is unfair for families :(

What did you select under purpose of visit? It appears they are only processing applications that have selected "other" as purpose of visit on the application form with the remark "COVID-19" as stated on their web page. I just submitted a TRV application to visit my husband in Canada who is a PR last week and I got a notification that my application is being processed. I did not have to do biometrics as I did a few years back and it's valid for 10 years. I will advise you re-submit, this time changing the purpose of visit. Good luck. I'm hopeful for a positive outcome!

I would write COVID-19 DELAYS
I would Write "IRCC INCOMPETENCY - COVID-19 #LoveIsNotTourism." Jk.
I applied after their announcement and they rejected it in a day. It is all automation and they have set fixed parameters to access these applications. If a Permanent Residents file is under process and if you do not have a strong travel history or a visitor Visa from the USA, there is hardly any chance to get positive result.

Yes I did apply under covid 19 other in capital letters.
Does multiple trv rejection has any delay in spousal applications!?? Does any one have idea!??
