Approval in principle is not an assurance of approval and taking studies online may be only a waste of money

Hi. I just got my approval in principle yesterday. I’m just thinking if IRCC made this process just to secure the money from students who are taking the fall semester. Wherein, they want us to take online courses so that we won’t be able to refund our tuition fees. In this way they can still secure money for canada yet they can still deny people in the second stage for eligibility.
Congratulations can you share your timeline please and where did you applied from?

Paranoid much? Just remember, Study permit & international students are not the only income stream that Canada has. So clear your head and enjoy your AIP. Thousands of others are waiting for this news.

I just want to be conservative because I’ve seen many people who got their AIP. It’s just sketchy that the rate of approvals last year is about 60%-70%. Please rebuttal my thoughts that they’re just looking for money to sustain their country.

I think some colleges have amended their refund policies regarding stage 2 refusal, if by Luck you are enrolled in any one of them then you will be given a refund otherwise, chances are slim but you can have a positive 2nd stage outcome provided you maintain your grades in your online studies, because an "F" grade could be lethal, other than that, Admissibility factors such as Background Check and Medical are very crucial, if they had to refuse a person at the 2nd stage, it would be based on admissibility

Thank you for this assurance. I just don’t want to take online classes and be refused on the second stage because of eligibility (ie., travel history, home ties, etc.) which are dealt with on the first stage. I just don’t want to waste money. Hahaha

What if I plan to defer my intake on January hoping that I can get my full study permit by then? Will that be an issue on the second stage? Because I’m still not sure if I have a stable internet connection for online classes. Thank you

This depends on the institute. You contact them ASAP and ask these questions that you have received AIP and waiting for full visa approval. But meanwhile if you register for classes and for any reason visa is refused after classes are started, what are your refund options.

I already informed them and they said that they can’t issue a refund if I already started the semester

I only got TOEFL since I’m on the regular stream
Ok, I am from India and not a student has received AIP. Approximately how many of your acquaintances in Phillipines have been granted Aip?
Indian students are desperately awaiting their results for fall 2020 intake.

Which college is that? What is the last day to register? Wait till that day to make final decision. You still have about a month.

I still don’t have any news or information about others in my country that received an AIP.
