And did you book your flight with Emirates from the airport itself, immediately after being denied boarding by the 1st airlines?
The reason for denying boarding was not because online classes are non-essential?

No, they only said that you can only fly 15 days before your classes are started. Airlines has nothing to do with online etc. If CIC has said that before 18 march students can come. Then airline can't deny entry. Only who can deny entry is CBSA that's it and they wouldn't do that if everything is authetnic. Why'd they deny entry?
Most CBSA officers are nice and will probably let you through once you are there but they have the discretion to send you back as well if they choose to. If you want to travel despite this risk then feel feel to travel to Canada
Here is link from IRCC stating that they will consider traveling for online study as esseitanal if "pursuing online studies is not an option for their school or program or not possible from their home country (for example, due to internet restrictions or bandwidth limitation) "

They had those rights to send you back before corona also if they wanted to.
Yes, you can travel if you really want to, there could be many issues in online classes like time zones, and the one internet etc.
How do we prove that online study is not possible from the home country? What documents should we show to prove that? What explanation should we give? Plus countries in Asia are still highly affected - covid cases are exponentially increasing daily.
And CBSA clearly stated that " the burden of proof rests with the student to prove that their travel is essential ".
And IRCC has only mentioned internet restrictions and bandwidth limitations, but not about time zone difference. Time zone is such a lame reason, seems silly when so many people in IT, Security, Services, work in a time zone that's different from the one where they live.
And are they not going to ask - " if you can afford Canadian tuition and living expenses, then, can't you arrange for a higher internet bandwidth at home? "
I mean, not getting / not able to arrange for bandwidth at home, but being able to afford studying there....these 2 things somehow don't go together.
Hi!!! congratulations for your entry. I too have my visa issued before 18th march and now waiting for flight resumption. could you please tell me what all documents does the officer ask to see at the port of entry before issuing the study permit??

You can only be considered so lucky here,
Mostly they didn't allowed students to enter Canada more than 2 months earlier and that too in normal times.
And you entered Canada 2 months earlier in times of Pandemic.

But listen idk what to say but by any means we have to reach Canada before the second semester begins.. probably December/january .if we decided to undertake 1 year program then we will have to be present in Canada so that we can extend our visas n all
