Hi everyone!

I have been waiting for my PR Card for an unprecedented 3 years now & just as I got my approval, COVID-19 hit the world. I received the approval in late January, however, I am yet to receive my physical card - I truly wonder how backlogged IRCC must be jeez. Anyways, I am exhausted of waiting to see my family & I want to take the next flight home. I can easily fly out however I am unsure on how to come back. Preferably I could get some documentation prior to leaving, however, if I am void options as such, I am open to requesting documentation in the UAE.

So all-in-all, I am wondering what my alternative options (apart from the PR Card) are when requiring a travel document to re-enter Canada?

PR Travel Document

You cannot apply while in Canada. You have to wait until you are outside of Canada to apply.

Not sure whether you'll be able to answer this but any clue on how long the process could take?

Sorry - no idea. Processing times are super hard to guess right now.

You both entered with an expired PR and attended university as a domestic student although your family never lived or paid taxes in Canada and you also didn't wait for 2 year and applied right away for a PR card which is not advised. Would consider you lucky versus complaining.
