su patrocinio externo se seguirá procesando, un TRV generalmente no dura más de 3 meses, por lo que lo más probable es que la salida de su esposa sea mucho antes de que el patrocinio se procese por completo
[/CITAR]
I mean to change the type of application and to wait within Canada, since this wait is very long and we cannot be together

can sponsor give sponsorship to spouse immediately after landing or has to wait for some times to get the pr card in hand as they need photocopy of the pr card thanks
As per the checklist PR card copy is on top of the list of things they ask a sponsor. I would strongly recommend that u wait till u get PR card. Forum seniors can weigh in if otherwise.

That defeats the idea of sponsorship doesn’t it ? It’d be possible Only if she was like an international student because her then status lasts longer than most spousal sponsorship applications . Only then you’d change the sponsorship application .
People who design these systems leave no loopholes.

Not sure what you're asking. If you have a TRV you can travel to Canada. While there, you may be able to extend your visa. But no work permit.

If you try to change it by withdrawing and reapplying, you would be starting over and lose quote à bit of time.

But my Spanish is weak so not sure I understood the exchange you quoted.

Thank you very much, if that's what I want to say. Know if I have problems waiting in Canada.

Subject to complying with the terms of your visa (as noted) and getting extensions if the process goes on longer, you should be able to.

Note that to board plane, you will need to satisfy the airline that you meet the exemption (i.e. that you are going to your spouse/immediate family); border agents that you have a real quarantine plan and understand the requirements of that; and that you are planning to comply with the terms of the visa (not work and not overstay/return as needed, for which a return ticket is a good idea, even if cancellable/changeable). My understanding is that (despite what the spanish says above) typically six months is the standard limit for TRV visitors, although border agents can put a shorter period of time.

Note, tell the truth: e.g. if asked that you have a PR application in process (they will know, of course). You do not have to say that you plan to stay for longer than the length of the visa (i.e. that you might extend, that's a decision for later). There should be no problem about planning to stay if your PR comes through, again, you plan to follow the terms of your TRV.

Read the thread. People who applied as far back as late February haven't heard back yet.

Well they’re saying that the machine is getting back into motion and paper applications are successfully being scanned and entered into our system, allowing for more and more applications to be processed remotely every day.

Hard to see results on the ground but I would take that as some development and hope that they pickup steam on spousal sponsorship applications.

Thanks for sharing. I think this is a good beginning, but they encourage the workers to take summer holidays  more holidays than all these 4 months?
