Chances of a candidate getting study permit with a visa rejection history in current covid scenario #India #covid #studypermit

Helllo Everyone,

In July 2020, I received an acceptance letter from the University of Winnipeg for a 16 months PGDiploma course (Winter 2021 intake). Since I have a study permit rejection history, I have been told I shall not apply for a study permit in current covid scenario as there are high chances of application refusal.

As of 13th July 2020, is anyone aware if CIC in India approving study permit applications these days?

Graduation: B.Tech (Electronics and communication), 2013 pass out
Work experience: 5+ years (almost a year gap between graduation and my first job)
Martial Status: Single
Age: 29 years old
IELTS Academic Score: 7 Overall Band with more than Band 6 in each module
Financial status: More than sufficient (parental property + personal savings)
Current course Details: PG-Diploma in Network Security at University of Winnipeg (Winter 2021 intake), Course Length: 16 months
Tuition fee Payment: Paid full 16 months course fee of CAD$22,580
GIC account: CAD$10,000

Previous study permit rejection reason:
Upon review of all information including the applicant's previous employment/education history and taking into account factors such as personal establishment, funds and ties of the home country, their motivation to pursue studies in Canada at this point does not seem reasonable given the high cost of international study in Canada when weighed against the potential Career/employment benefits. Application refused.

Thank you for looking into my concern. I work in the field of IT risk management which is part of the same domain of my course in Network Security.

Last time when my visa application got refused, I had accepted a 8 months PG Diploma course in Network security at the Seneca College. At that time, I only paid one semester fee and my visa application was paper based.

The thing is your previous education of Engineering doesn't match up with the networks course to the VO even though logically speaking it is a somewhat relatable field. For higher success, a course such as Masters in Elec. Engeering or PGD in that would have been better

It’s good that you have paid the entire tuition & I suppose you are planning to get the GIC as well… so you should apply under SDS this time. So this solves the monetary problem but you still will require to show funds and properties under your or your parent’s name, above everything else draft a very well explained SOP- mention each and everything why the engineering then why job in this field, if you have changed companies (everything), what have you leaned from the job & significantly how do you believe that this course will help you achieve greater heights (because this will be crucial in your case, since you already have so many years of experience, so they might think why do you even need this course, hence you gotta make them believe that this is going to help tremendously for achieving your career goals & reach a notch higher. Moreover, don’t forget to make them understand about the broad scope of this field in your home country (because no matter what you plan, you gotta make them believe that you are going to return back to your home country). Show your employment verification certificates. In your case you can also try and get a conditional job offer from your current employer - who might consider offering you a higher post & salary upon your completion of course (just an idea, I know you intend to go for the PGWP & work in Canada but still this is also an option, so consult with some agency, consult with experts regarding this). Also draft a good story for your family ties in your home country (which shall be complemented by your family establishments here.

Honestly, i'm very skeptical of people getting study permits after being refused one. It's always a lot harder.

But all you can do is just try your best, formulate a really solid SOP, try to address their concerns, and just hope for the best.
