I am the employer. My caregiver is almost same as your timeline submitted last september, and january I got a request for docs such as NOAs, Birth Certs and letter of explanation. He received eligibility, medical request last March but due to covid, he was only able to do it last month and passed. Now we are just waiting. How do you request for ATIP. Thanks

Hello looks like there is no update for all those who submitted for a while now. I am an employer and the caregiver application was Sent Jan 12 2020 and no update yet since then. I am planning to send a letter to the ministry of Immigration that hopefully they will start to look into this and start the processing for caregivers. I understands due to pandemic that there are delays and back logs but in my opinion caregivers are much needed now than ever. I have a 4 yr old and a New baby and will Come back to work soon. I am afraid of sending them to school and day care because of covid 19. I would rather have them stayed at home with a caregiver to be safe. Hoping the government will see that we are in need of caregivers here from overseas otherwise I might extend my maternity leave and not to return work unless I have a caregiver to help us at home.
Good effort even every employer should do the same.

I think it's Best if employers in this group can send email to him so they will know that many of us our waiting and it's good to say on the letter the need to have urgent caregiver that can help us esp this pandemic. I think it's better to try otherwise we don't know how long we are going to wait. Some of you have past the 1 Year processing time. Please send email to Minister@cic.gc.ca. He is a newly appointed and he has been active in social media and have his own Facebook.

COVID-19 update: IRCC resuming processing of online applications for visitor visas and eTAs, but travel restrictions remain
Ottawa, June 30, 2020 – As of July 1, 2020, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will once again process online applications for visitor visas (including transit visas) and electronic travel authorizations (eTAs), to the extent possible.
Resuming processing and making final decisions where possible on visitor applications will help IRCC ensure future processing times aren’t significantly impacted and help expedite people’s travel when the travel restrictions are lifted.
However, due to current travel restrictions, applicants should keep in mind that, even if they apply and get a visitor visa or eTA, most people will not be able to travel to Canada at this time.
IRCC also continues to process study permit and work permit applications submitted online and permanent residence applications, to the extent possible. Paper applications for visitor visas, study permits and work permits will not be processed until further notice.
Measures have been put in place to make sure applicants have the time they need to complete all the steps in the application process, including giving their biometrics. Some visa application centres (VACs) are starting to reopen. Applicants can check the website for info on the VAC closest to them, so they can book an appointment to give their biometrics as soon as they’re able.
Those who are eligible to travel to Canada at this time must have a plan to quarantine for 14 days when they arrive in Canada. This is mandatory, even if they have no symptoms. Those who don’t have a plan should not travel to Canada.
We’ll continue to provide updates on further processing changes, including when the travel restrictions will be lifted.

Hello, i am also the employer, September applicant. I tried to send a letter to CIC Edmonton a month back but i am not sure if canadapost delivered it coz it just stays delivery pending for weeks now, i was wondering maybe the office is still closed.
I agree on this, just like you all, i will also email MP as we need our caregiver ASAP since both I and my husband our health care workers, and school might be for 2.5 days in a week only this coming Sept. I hope all employer will email MP.
Thanks

It's good to email your MP. Also send an email to the minister of immigration. The email address was provided in the previous posts.

That way, if the minister reads our letter, he would be able well aware of what's going on. The CPCs are just following directives from his office.

That is true . I hope the minister will do something to speed up the process.
