First PR Card

I went to a date calculator site I frequently used. I put in Monday, March 16, 2020 + 98 days, Excluding Weekends and public holidays
in Canada – Ontario and got Tuesday, August 4, 2020. If I removed Ontario, and just left it at Canada-Nationwide it got me Wednesday, August 5, 2020.

I did one including all days so from Monday, March 16, 2020 + 98 days, Including All days in Canada – Ontario, it got me Monday, June 22, 2020.

Are you a Canadian essential worker? Think the priirity for essential workers is for processing work permits. A PR card is primarily a travel document so most don't need one to live in Canada. During the height of our covid processing of PR cards stopped for atound 2 months. Processing started again a few weeks ago. Given that travelling is discouraged PR card processing was not considered a high priority at that point and mau not have been possible with lockdown.

I am an essential worker. I have worked in a US hospital since this crap started in mid-March. Literally after doing my landing I got called in for a shift, and everything went to crap. Often doing 14 hour days, and I was the only one working in my dept for the first 7 weeks. Even this past Thursday I was asked to cover this weekend with tons of bonus pay. I am immunocompromised, asthmatic, highly OCD and a germaphobe, and I know the ironic part is working in a hospital but I went into healthcare to help people. I also take care of a special needs non-human baby who would hit all 5 bench marks for a human with high risk factors to covid. He as well receives essential services at University of Guelph. I have to take care of myself and him 10x more than I was already doing prior. Most of the time I stay in the US due to being flat out exhausted to drive and the needs at the hospital but when I do eventually go back to my Canadian house which is about once a month with my bambino in tow because where I go he goes, I can actually eat and sleep (not hear fireworks), and I'm a natural introvert anyway so I don't go out. It just would be nice instead of traveling with the signed copr paper form that I disinfect every trip (and scared may wet too much that it will damage), to wipe down a much smaller card.

Got this response a few hours back,

‘We are working on processing applications as quickly as possible; however, processing times are affected and any disruptions caused by COVID-19 may not be reflected accurately on our website. We will make all the necessary efforts to finalize your application as soon as possible.

Rest assured that you will be informed as soon as a decision is reached or if additional information is needed.’

Thank you for letting me know. I ended up sending a message earlier in the week. I got the same response today from them. I literally asked specifically about the days and calculating them but they said what was posted online wasn't accurate, and then what you posted above.

I am not in the family sponsorship class, but I landed in mid February, and there is no update for the PR card yet. I sent a webform to confirm the address, see if it was the reason behind the delay.
