Hello Guys,

is there any option that I can collect more points for PR if I work under "CETA" work permit, which means I'm self-employed? I'm just missing one month as employee to get full 2 years of Canadian experience and my self-employment under CETA doesn't count at all even if I work full time for one employer. Any ideas?
Thank you

If you are self-employed, then unfortunately you cannot count this work experience towards CEC. Yes, that rule still applies if you work for a single employer.

Is your employer willing to get an approved LMIA so that you can get a closed work permit? If you do that, then you will be able to count the work experience towards CEC.

There are cases where a person who is supposedly self employed meets the CRA definition of employed - having to do with whether your employer controls your place and time of work, instructs you what to do, etc. It might be worth looking into (CRA website).
