I submitted a complete spousal sponsorship application for my wife in January 2020. We got the acknowledgment of receipt in March 3, 2020. Today, after months of silence, we received a request for the Biometrics fee, which we already paid. The original payment we executed was: Sponsorship fee ($75), principal applicant processing fee ($475) and right of permanent residence fee ($500) which totaled $1050. We also paid the biometrics fee which was $75. Our total payment was of $1125.00 Now, we are being asked to pay a new biometrics fee which is $85. Has anyone received this request today or in recent weeks? It looks like we did not pay the biometrics fee, when we actually did pay it.

Thank you for your reply. I did understand that and paid the difference already, what was interesting was that it let me pay $75 for the Biometrics fee when I submitted my application, thus not giving me the option to pay $85 for Biometrics. Anyways, lesson learned on our side!

Hi
Biometric fees has always been $85. Right of Permanent Residence fees was $490 at that time. You pain the right amount which was $1125 (75+475+490+85).
Right pf Permanent residence fees increased by $10 since April 30/2020. Total fees including Biometrics is $1130 if your application was submitted after April 30/2020.
I received the same reminder email also. I don't think we have to do anything, this was probably a generic email as a reminder to pay the Biometric fees.

Total fee including biometrics fee after april 30,2020 should be $1135 not $1130.

if you paid a total of $1125, and submitted in March then you paid the correct fee for biometrics, and did not need to pay more.

Fees before April 30th: Sponsorship fee ($75), + PA processing fee ($475) +Right of PR fee ($490 and not $500) = This brings a total of $1040 not $1050
biometrics fee ($85) +$1040= $1125.00

Is there any way to track a sponsorship's application. By this I mean, to track the application a sponsor has submitted to sponsor his wife?

Medical completed. MyCIC updated. Medical passed on October 06/2020. Now waiting for call from Service Canada for Biometrics.
