International Students in the US applying for Canadian Study Permit

I am an international student who completed a bachelor's degree in the US, and currently working here under OPT(Optional Practical Training). Since my current employment in the US is considered as Practical Training, should I write "Student" for a "Present Occupation" section in the form IMM5707e?

You should write your actual job since you are working.
Your residence status would be student and that would be in the other forms along with your work history which will include when you were not working/student.

I put Student on OPT. I got my visa approved after 3 days. I was an international student completing an associate degree and was also on OPT at the time I applied

I am. I planned to come to Canada on July 4th bcz I have my study permit approved before March 18, but I'm now worried about being denied entry at POE. Still waiting to get connected with Intl Advisor

I believe that the US-Canada border is open for essential travel. The only thing when you enter Canada you have to quarantine yourself for 14 days. Where in Canada is your school?

I'm in discussion with some other folks regards the definitionn of "essential". Would studies be considered as essential when most courses are online now?

Well, I am doing an engineering degree. I will have to physically go to the lab for some of the courses which I will take. I think it should be considered essential.

Since I'm doing Business, chances that being denied are high because of the ambiguous definition on IRCC website.
Anw, it is easy to apply for study permit from the us as long as you satisfy all req.

I do. I think it's important but I'm not sure about this. I explained why I want to transfer my studies to Canada and why I pursue the program and other kinds of things
