IMPORTANT INFO. on 14 DAYS QUARANTINE

Guys, please ensure that everyone who is travelling should follow strict protocol of 14 days quarantine as stipulated by Canadian Authorities. My sister lives in Sask. and spoke to her yesterday. Her colleague recently flew back (i believe on June 2 or 3 from India), and she informed my sister that 3 days back police just popped in her quarantine place to check if she is following the protocols of quarantine, so please I request everyone to follow that in order to avoid any kind of unneccsaasry headache and fine from authorities.

They are strict and we should respect the law accordingly.

Thanks.

Hi Friends, I have a query, PLEASE HELP.

I got my PR visa stamped in January & COPR expiry in July 2020.

Is it mandatory to travel or we can raise web form that we are not feeling safe to travel as of now because we have a 1 year kid also.

Please advice. your help will decide our next action. Thanks in advance.
Hi, If you cannot travel or you are unwilling to travel, it won't affect your PR status. Please go through the following excerpt from the Information Letter I received from IRCC, after submitting the webform.

"Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). This is in reference to your application for permanent residence in Canada. We have received your request to extend the duration within which you can confirm your status as a permanent resident. Please be assured that your application will not be refused if you are unable or unwilling to travel as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. If the situation is resolved and you are able to travel within the existing validity of your documents, you may do so. Otherwise, once you and your family members (if applicable) are able to travel, please notify us through the IRCC Web form. At that time, IRCC will respond with the most up to date information we have on next steps. "

However, I am planning to travel on June 23rd before the expiry of my visa.

They never declared that they wouldn't require us doing re-medicals. Besides, they removed that sections with M1 and M3 from the instruction. Why are you sure, they won't require us? I would be happy, if that is the case, because I am afraid the process would take another 3-4 months. I wonder how much time takes extension of COPR in normal conditions (I have heard, there have been cases before pandemic).
In normal condition too they took 3 to 4 months to process extension starting from raising an web form to new copr in hand.(As per info from one case I came to know of)

Oh, no. If we have to redo medicals, it will be even longer. I only hope my University will allow distance learning for first semester (they barely do that for engineering programs).

Brother, no any comprehensive list but have obviously passport and copr handly. Customs and Quarantine form would be handed over by security staff you just have to fill that up. Many people fill Bsf form. But they dont require it at airports any more for the most of cases.
Thank you! I just wanted to know if we need to take extra photos and stuff? The COPR document already has the photos that I provided when the passport was stamped. But that was close to 6 months ago. So wanted to know if we need to take fresh photographs :D. Also what is a BSF form?

I thought most universities now are flexible with distance learning for first semester. Even IRCC has mentioned they will consider distance learning in the first year for post graduate work permit.

No it's not their call. They will extend everyone without medicals. What's not clear is the duration, is it 3 months or 6 months, or is it case by case basis. This is probably hard for them to determine now.
As I mentioned it is as per trend but not by rules. No rule says they have to extend validity without medicals.

Well, if you take a look at cases taking longer than a year for processing then you'll find within a week or two their medicals are usually updated on CIC portal. That's a positive note from past record of IRCC for such cases. I am sure cases with expiry due to pandemic would be processed faster.
