My parent sponsor visa is expiring after two days on 12 june, have already informed webform that me and my wife 69 and 66 years old cannot travel during covid, though landing visa expiring on 12 june, I am now planning to travel in october 2020, please let me advice what should be my next step ?
You need to send in a webform and request and extension. You will see how long an extension you are given. I have seen others get a 3 month extension. You may need to arrive in September versus October. It takes multiple weeks to get extension confirmation.

Even virus is under control in Canada and soon they will open up but the job market might take sometime to get back to normal. Experts are saying that different parts of India would see virus peaks at different time. Since things are opening up in India also, I believe we will surely get the answers by July if we have controlled the virus or not. I am favouring that virus will be brought under control by late July or early Aug. Finger crossed.
Unemployment being higher is not a reason someone can’t land. They can choose to do a soft landing if they don’t want to move to Canada yet.

PR card processing essentially stopped in March. There are some posts on the subject but think they are still processing February and maybe early March.
Post your query to the below group:

Hi myself expiry july 28 I raised webform saying flight cancelled also not willing to travel at this time due to corona risk as family with comorbidities. They replied my file forward to delhi they will look after it. But with visa office closed they may take time to respond
Your extension will only be given after COPR expires. Covid is not going away so it is unrealistic to expect that you’ll be able to get an extension until there is a vaccine and the world has been vaccinated. You are going to have to plan on travelling at a certain point. Canada is actually safer than many countries.

Airbnb with private room and private bathroom is sufficient to satisfy them for quarantine? The host also lives in the house but I will not be sharing any facilities with him.
Is your host aware you are quarantining? Many hosts will not be comfortable sharing a home. I suspect the shared kitchen is going to be an issue for CBSA. How will you survive without refrigeration? Washing dishes? Taking out your own garbage? You can’t use the same handles. It is summertime you can’t just leave food out forever? How will you store food in your room? Accept deliveries without contact with the owner? It is not realistic or affordable to order in one meal 3 times a day. I would be looking for your own apartment even if it is a studio. Many AirBnBs are currently empty so you can ask if they can offer you a better price.

So as far as I understand, there are cases that have already received a 3-month extension of PR visas, am I right?

Hello all. I submitted a web form stating that I will not be able to travel before my COPR expires. And below is response I received.

We verified the information you provided; however, it differs from the one we have on file.

In order to better assist you, we invite you to resubmit your request by filling out the IRCC Web form and include the following information:

  • Surname and complete given name (including middle name, if applicable) - exactly as they appear on the passport or identity document,
  • Date of birth (YYYY-MM-DD),
  • Client ID Number, UCI or Application Number,
  • Country of birth,
  • Type of application,
  • Date on which the application was submitted to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada,
  • Mailing method (courier, Canada Post (registered or regular mail), etc.),
    • company used,
    • confirmation no.,
  • Office where the application was submitted (city, country),
  • Receipt number,
  • Current address,
  • Telephone number(s),
  • Email address, and
  • All documents submitted with your previous request.

Just wanted to ask about the points in red. Mailing method for sending my passport? and what receipt number are they asking?
Thank you
Are you sure the option you picked was permanent residence (online or mail)? not permanent resident card?

Quarantine rules will be in place for a very long time. Canada may actually be a safer place for your family. Extensions will not go on forever. People will need to travel while covid is still around. If countries are no longer in lockdown and flights are running the unwilling part of the extension request may no longer be an option at a certain point. Your family will not qualify for an extension until your COPRs expires. You should wait and see what is happening in the world over the next months and try to rebook your flight. It seems as though you may have been given a rebooking credit. CIC is still telling people to travel if they can. If you applied for SINP and got PR through the program you are expected to try and resettle in SK or you can lose your PR. It is easy to book a hotel or AirBnB from abroad and there are delivery options for all your food or supplies. Community organizations are even willing to pick up grocery orders if delivery is not available. It is too early to decide what will happen in such a fluid situation.
lose PR? Where did you see this?

Hi all. Did anyone receive a reply from IRCC after "Ready to Travel" webform after COPR expiry? If there is an extension (with our without a re-medical) do we need to send out passport for visa stamping? Any idea on this?
