Hello, I've been with CIBC bank since 2013. I switched to a different bank and moved my assets.
I already applied for my PR and sitting at 59%. Do I have to send a letter, explaining that switched banks? And the reason. Mostly because of no-fee banking.

59%? also no why would you mention that? you mean for POF?

If it's POF related, then It's quite odd to change your bank during such process as applying for PR.
Try to upload LOE, but describe it in a more comprehensive way. The reason which you've mentioned is not essential in order to change bank provider.

why would it be odd to change your bank account? your life doesn't stop when you apply for PR and if your bank is acting up i'd defo change it

Yeah, on on my profile it says 59% (maybe more now),I don't really know, maybe they check information in a specific oreder like 0-10% medical,10-20% education etc.

Yeah, for POF. I uploaded a letter from my bank (old) that shows the date when I opened each account and my totals.

I am not sure if it is enough for CIC to see the papers or they actually call the banks or even have access to applicants' bank information (Canadian only?)

i don't know but again it's none of their business why you changed banks. if they asked for an updated POF you provide it to them. they care you have the money, in your own name and that you didn't borrow them.
