Hi!

My AOR is 18th November and my file is located at the local Montreal office.
I raised a webform to get an update on my file and I got the following webform response:

" The application is still in process at IRCC local office in Montreal, Quebec.
The responsible office is currently verifying if your application meets the eligibility requirements under the immigration program for which you have applied,
you may be contacted via your account if additional information is needed.

The background verifications are in process.
The security background verification has not been initiated.
The criminal background verification is in process."

A few days later I called the office to check if there was anything that was holding back my file. The officer responded that my file was send to the Montreal office on December 3rd and was awaiting a review at the local office. There have been no updates since December 3rd and that there was no need to worry. She mentioned that files are usually sent for a review to the local offices and it's a normal process and that there was nothing exceptional with my case.

Let me know if:

1) Its normal that all files are given a second review
2) There has been no update since December 3rd. Is that normal?
3) I've ordered GCSM notes. Is there anything else that I can do to get more details about my file? I'm worried that something on my file may be lacking, which is causing a delay, and which the agent failed to clarify.

I'm being extra cautious here because if I don't get my PR within the next two months I set to loose my job. Will appreciate any help/advice/consolation lol
Why would you lose your job if you have a valid work permit? @paxi

I'm not sure whether you are an In Land appliction, but it's like IRCC is prioritizing these kind of files.
1) As far as I know, not all, but it's common to get a "Review Required"
2) I think, depending of the reasons why your file was flagged to review it might take that long. It's like when they want to review things related to work experience tends to take longer (based on what I see people saying).
3) That's the best you can do. Agents can't give you details about your application.

I received 2 emails that completely freaked me out.

It says

"We're still working on your application.

You may not have heard from us in a little while. This is normal. Most of the progress on your application happens closer to your estimated completion date.

We send messages to your account if we need something from you."

While I would looooove to receive an email from IRCC, I would prefer for it to be a PPR mail.
I received the same 2 email this morning! I know for sure that my PR was approved on March 20th because they told me so! I believe that this is an automatic message and I hope they sent it because they have re-started the process!
