Hi,
I have a question about filing income taxes.
I sent my application in early January 2020 and had not yet filed my income taxes for the tax year of 2019 so I said that I was required to file for 2019 but did not.
I have now filed my income taxes for the year 2019 and I was wondering if I have to update IRCC about this or would they understand when they check with CRA?
Based on the below, my understanding is if you answered 'No' to 'Were you required to file taxes for XXX year', you should be good. Answering 'Yes' to the aforementioned question and answering 'No' to 'Did you file taxes for the year XXX?' doesn't sound right to me. You might want to explain this to IRCC clearly through webform. But check with others who might have been in the same situation before to see what they did.

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/canadian-citizenship/grant/residence/income-tax-filing.html

Taxation years
For the purposes of the requirements, taxation years are the same as calendar years. For the physical presence calculation, no time before the relevant period can be counted. However, for the income tax requirement, the year that the relevant period starts can be used as one of the taxation years. The year the applicant submitted their application will generally not be counted, as taxes are not filed until the following year. Also, applicants who submit their application early in the calendar year would not have been required to file taxes yet for the previous calendar year.

HELLO,
I am planning to apply for citizenship. what are documents we have to submit for self-employment experience? please guide me. thanks
Do you see anything in the document checklist or the instruction guide asking you to submit documents related to your work? I would recommend doing at least a VERY BASIC research before posting questions. Thanks.

@rajkamalmohanram has put trmendous effort in creating comprehensive guide but he needs to correct the information given for Question 5.

Here is the exact wording from the form's (?) i.e. help section of Question 5:
"We need to know all the names you have ever used in your life, so we can verify your identity. If you have ever used any other names other than the one being requested in your grant of citizenship application, print them in the chart. Examples: Name at time of birth, name before marriage, previous married names, married names, nick names or any other names you have used."

Note: I have emphasized on the point I am trying to make here by bold and underline words.

I would like to add one more thing here is they would want you to add all the names you have ever used means including your current name but that's the case being if you have used any other names before.

@rajkamalmohanram check it out raj!!

We are very thankful to @rajkamalmohanram for his dedicated help. I greatly appreciate.

What should I write for my spouse, who has officially changed her name in Canada.

I will write spouse's name at birth in first row.

and

second row should I write her changed name. But in drop down menu there is no appropriate selection. She changed her name because, she did not had last name earlier.

I also believe that there should be a drop down selection for saying official name change.

Any suggestions.

Secondly. Is the copy of old IELTS test report (which was submitted at the time of PR) enough for English requirement.

Thank you.

Hello,

  • Can I pay the application fee for me and spouse together or I should do it separately?
  • What is the order of placing the applications? I mean should I put all my documents first and then all my spouse documents or
Place two applications, two physical presence, two passport copies and so on.

Sorry for such a weird question.

Thanks

@rajkamalmohanram

In Part -5 of your post.

The postal code for the courier address has a typo. It is printed 2 instead of a Z. Please correct it.

It is mentioned as

Case Processing Centre-Sydney GRANTS Adults
49 Dorchester Street
Sydney, Nova Scotia B1P 522

The correct address is

Case Processing Centre-Sydney GRANTS Adults
49 Dorchester Street
Sydney, Nova Scotia B1P 5Z2

Thank you

How to answer section 11 if I was working multiple jobs during same time period. I mean overlapping.

I was doing two jobs (One full -time and One part-time)

From To

2017-08 to Present Work 1 (full-time)

2017-05 to 2019 -10 Work 2 (part-time)

2017 -01 to 2017-05 Unemployed

Do the VO think that I have a gap of 3 months from 2017 -05 to 2017-08.

Please suggest. How to convey this.

Thank you

Mention all of your work or study related activies including unemployment in chronological order just like you'd put it in resume

I want to know, how to list the overlapping employment. As I was working 2 jobs at the same time.

Thanks

Hi there,
I have 2 questions to ask:

#1 question 10.a on the application form CIT0002E
For the history of address, it says that if you reside, study or work outside of Canada, you need to provide the address abroad. I assume I don't need to provide the address for my overseas business trips, correct? Taking business trips is part of my job, but I don't work in other countries. I work for a company in Canada, thus I don't need to provide the address of my overseas business trips, right?
#2 question 17.C on the application form CIT0002E
If I don't live in Quebec, do I need to respond to that question? Or should I check NO for that question?

Thank you very much!

Question 17c

Hi there,
I have 2 questions to ask:

#1 question 10.a on the application form CIT0002E
For the history of address, it says that if you reside, study or work outside of Canada, you need to provide the address abroad. No need to provide the address of the business trips. You are a resident of Canada. All visits are temp visits.

#2 question 17.C on the application form CIT0002E
If I don't live in Quebec, do I need to respond to that question? Or should I check NO for that question?

Honestly, I am also looking for this answer.

I think YES/NO will not make any difference, if you are not living in Quebec.

Any one if who has any idea, please share.

Thank you very much!

Please reply. Thank you.

Hello,

I have some questions in the citizenship application form CIT 0002 E

Please help.

  • Q 11 - How to answer section 11 if I was working multiple jobs during same time. I mean overlapping.
I was doing two jobs (One full -time and One part-time)
    From To
    2017-08 to Present Work 1 (full-time)
    2017-05 to 2019 -10 Work 2 (part-time)
    2017 -01 to 2017-05 Unemployed
Do the VO think that I have a gap of 3 months from 2017 -05 to 2017-08.

  • Q 13 – Should we list Student / Employment / Tourist. Confused as all these are not immigrant visas.

  • Q 15 a – Is old IELTS photo copy (dated 2013, used when applying PR) is enough for proof. Or Do I need to write IELTS.

  • Q 17 c – Yes/ No , If I am not a Quebec resident.

  • All places - Do we need to write N/A, if we have nothing to write or leave it blank.
    • Like in Q 4b,
    • Q 7b (if mailing address is same as home address)
    • Q 10 b (country /territory)
    • Q 14a (In table B)
    • Q 16 b
Please answer these questions. I will be very thankful.
