Hello,
The experience I’m sharing today may be helpful for someone and this happens because of Mr. D C Sharma an active member of this blog.

I booked Del London Air India 17th May (Right now I’m in the waiting area of Airport)
London Toronto Air Canada 18th May after layover of 17 hours
COPR valid till 18th May

Air India staff is very supportive and they have tagged my luggage till Toronto.
One just need to fill two forms at the airport. One is in duplicate and one is simple declaration. Just need to fill passenger and flight details.
Verbal information acquired about address in Canada for quarantine purpose.
Have downloaded ArriveCAN app for intimating my arrival in Canada.

Will intimate further....

Thanks

Hello Virkz,

Thank you for sharing your experience. It's good to know that there is a possibility to travel even in the current situation from India,

Just wanted to know if it is possible to get the luggage tagged till Toronto if one takes Air India flight from Mumbai followed by a Air Canada flight from London? Or is it possible only if the travel is from Delhi ?

Additionally, if the luggage is tagged till Toronto, did you have to transfer the luggage by yourself or did Air India transfer it to the connecting flight for you ?

Any views / experiences much appreciated.

Thanks!

@Saini_India Yes, COPR holders who were issued COPRs before March 18 can fly. Check the air india website. I tried, but my antivirus is freaking out just visiting that website.

My CoPR and visa expired on May 20. Can I still go or do I need to intimate the IRCC before and then book a ticket?

You will have to notify IRCC that you can travel and then they will reopen your case and issue you a new COPR and one time visa. IF you are from India I'm guessing that your file is with DELHI VO in which case you will have to email Delhi High Commission. I suggest you raise a web-form and wait for the answer.

Applicants related to New Delhi Visa Office with expired CoPR, when should we raise the web form to inform them being able to travel?

I already raised a web form before my documents expired. Do I need to intimate them one more time? And now should I wait for regular International Flights to resume and then inform IRCC or am I eligible for Vande Bharat flights?

Hi Neha,

Since your CoPR has expired then you need to get another CoPR with extended date. For this you need to wait for international flights to resume and raise another webform and wait again for IRCC to reply with instructions. I am not sure if we should count on Vande Bharat flights as they are run on temporary basis and are not the regular flights.

The first web-form you raised was to tell them that you can't travel. As per IRCC website you have to inform them once you can travel. Please see the link below
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/service-delivery/coronavirus/permanent-residence.html

This is just my two cents but I think you should wait till normal flight resume operations to inform IRCC that you can travel. If you are eligible for Vande Bharat flights or not can be found out by directly calling Air India which is better option in current scenario.
