Hello Everyone. I raised a webform to inform IRCC that I will not be able to travel before expiry of my COPR and visa. I received below reply. Is someone else also received similar reply. Do I need to take any action??

“Good day

Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

We verified the information you provided and have forwarded it to the responsible office.

They will contact you if further information is required or if a decision is made on your application.

We hope the information provided is helpful in assisting you with your enquiry.“
Yes, this is the generic email. You may receive another email from the concerned office soon depending on your application. When is your COPR expiring?

Hi folks! I just arrived in Canada. Thank you everyone here. I took a lot of information here and it was very helpful.

*My final destination was Toronto but they did all the immigration stuff (5 minutes) when I arrived in Canada (Vancouver). So, no worries about that.

See you guys in Canada! Stay positive!

Hmmm, the same automatic reply like the one everyone gets when informing about inability to travel. I was expecting some different reply. I think they will give specific response when the visa offices are open.

As per my understanding, whenever VFS office opens and commercial international flights start in India, New Delhi Visa Office will send communication to folks with expired COPR for re-issuing of new COPR and visa. Same they had posted on their Facebook page months back.

So your wife's file getting transferred to New Delhi is not surprising.
can you please share the link of the Facebook post where they said this? Thanks

Hi,
I received letter stating "Permanent Residence in Canada is now complete". I m supposed to send COPR with photo to one address. I applied from within Canada but traveled to my home country, so that I can do landing but got stuck.
Question: Can I send COPR n photo from outside Canada , if yes my PR card will be delivered to my address in Canada. What should be further process?
If No, what should be done

Hi Neeti,

Thanks for responding!

Mom's visa expired on 19 May. And yes, perhaps you are also holding your breath for - as much for parents arrival logistics/CoPR extension - as for their safety either in Mumbai or during the flight!

I can't think of any other way but to now wait for:
  • IRCC re-opening the file (status currently shows - Application Approved and Document Expired
  • VFS offices to open in Mumbai (me for Hyderabad)
  • IRCC / New Delhi Visa Office asking us to submit passports
  • Upon the above - jump on booking flights on the currently cancelled tickets (I currently have two cancelled tickets from different airlines)
  • Sit and have Mom's first cooked meal in Toronto, with her :)
Regards
Nav
Afraid repatriations are unlikely. Think your mother will be waiting for an extension and joining regular flights once they start.

You will have to send in a webform and indicate you are not in Canada. No you can’t send in your COPR and photo. You will have to go through regular PPR, COPR and landing procedures.

Hello Friends,
I need an Urgent Help, if you can help please.
I got my COPR along with my wife and 1 year old daughter in December 2019. Medicals July 2019.
Our COPR expiring in July 2020. & we haven't flown till now for soft landing or anything. Then Covid19 happened in March, and I was really scared to travel with a kid.
So, I am really worried what will happen to my COPR? I checked CIC site, it states if you not able to travel due to Covid19, please raise web form. Don't know what is the use of that?
Can you please help me as to what is the best alternative available for me right now,
Even though Flights resume operations in July 2020, i will be scared to go on a such a long journey with a kid especially in this condition.

Can you please respond on this? I will be happy to provide any more information if you require to answer this? Thanks in advance.

I got response to above query from a senior member that I need to raise a webform for this. @pumpkin_latte

Can you guys please suggest that if there is any risk of losing PR status through this process?
You are likely to have to travel when covid is still an issue in the world. If flights are running from where you are located and Canada is accepting people to land in Canada you won’t be able to extend indefinitely. Canada is endouraging those who can travel to travel. Getting a vaccine, if we’re lucky, is likely a year away but could be much longer. Smaller children without chronic health issues are less likely to be affected by covid compared to you and your spouse. If you want to extend you will be given 3 months but you should try to travel in the next 3 months as long is flights are running from your country and your country is not in lockdown. The longer people try to extend the more likely they will need to repeat things like medicals, PCC, etc. In many cases being in Canada is much better than being in your home country. There may be access to more medical care and less cases of covid.

I have received an email from Lufthansa with their new flight schedules showing flights between Canada and India starting in June and I guess I have seen similar communications from some other airlines too about starting their operations soon. I raised a webform as I am ready to travel even with evacuation flights.

Nothing is guaranteed when it comes to flight these days. Until you finally get an extension you shouldn’t book a flight unless it is well in advance. Youare unlikely you be able to qualify for a repatriation flight. Those who live in Canada already or are PRs/citizens will get priority. Seniors or spouse and children being reunified with family would be next.

Untill govt declares them open it would be risky to block ur money again . Secondly vfs are closed so we can not send passports for restamping and High commision of Delhi is well aware of that.Lets see what they respond to you.
