That sounds like good news, but were they also silent on the eligibility? Does anyone know why the agent wouldn’t state the status of eligibility? Is it that they don’t comment on it if it’s in progress or if there’s an issue?? I had the no comment on eligibility when I raised a web form.
As far as I understand it for FSW - Outland applications they don't start the security checks before eligibly is met.

So does this mean your eligibility is passed since security is valid?

The background verifications are in process - does this relate to eligibility or something else?
https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/what-happens-after-ita-especially-background-check.481762/page-2 might give you some more info.

As far as I understand it the background checks come after eligibility and background normally entails the security and criminality checks. When they have it like in your mail response (same as mine twice the 1st time, and the second time all valid) then the background checks will be the eligibility they are just not being consistent with naming as we expect it from what people have determined to be their process and naming conventions.

So you think background verifications are the same as eligibility? Maybe so.

On the 200 person WhatsApp group that I am on many people responded that they think my case basically just needs final sign off and others seem to think it does not cover eligibility. So I am not sure. But splitting Background out in like our case when it is the same thing as security would just not make sense...?

Got this response on the web form:

You will find below useful information that we hope will help understand the process and current status of your application for permanent residence:

  • The Case Processing Center in Ottawa, Ontario, established that your application meets the eligibility requirements under the immigration program for which you have applied,
  • The background verifications are currently in process.
  • The security verifications are not in process yet.
  • The criminality verifications are currently in process.
· All the required documents and information have been received by the responsible office for the moment.

Does this mean that eligibility is passed? Also, my AOR is Feb 1. I have seen a lot of cases on this forum whose application are much further in consideration that mine. Looks sad :(
any ideas about center in Ottawa? How fast do they work?

Ottawa is one of the fast VO. What about your stream? Inland or out land?
