Wow that is good news. What is your local office? Did you email the local visa office too? My copr expired April end but status is not changed yet.
Shriram - you have to wait till the travel restriction is removed. once you are ready, you will have to open another web request stating you are ready to travel. then IRCC will reissue new COPR. till then have to wait patiently.

That is what I thought. But this post suggests otherwise:

Hi Everyone!

My PPR date is March 12th 2020
FInal decision date is May 6th 2020
I got my COPR delivered to me on May 13th 2020.

I'm currently in USA and need to travel to Canada before June 15th.
I called IRCC to ask if I can travel and they say that my application approval date is March 12th 2020 actually and I should be fine to travel (given anyone with approval dates before march 18th is allowed to travel).

My questions is - is PPR and approval date the same? (found this link also https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/permanent-residence/express-entry/procedures-finalizing-approved-applications.html)

Anyone in same situation and did travel to Canada recently? What proof did you use to show your date of approval?
If I am not wrong then approval date is the date when your passport is stamped with PRV. You can find that in From date on your PRV.

My medical again says passed on May 19,2020(They did not request any re-medicals). They haven't mentioned anything about extension. But profile has been changed from approved to in progress. Anyone here who is in the same situation as me?
There are two others I am aware of in this thread in same situation as of you. Could you please tell us your PR processing visa office?

I think I'd better raise a web form about it. Thanks for the reply!
I asked the IRCC agent repeatedly.. and they said they actually see a date of approval of March 12th 2020 on my file. And if you look at the link I shared in original post, it mentions that "passport request" is sent after application is approved.

That makes sense. But the conventional wisdom here is to check IRCC website or the issue date on CoPR and PRV.

Another point is that IRCC website has some sort of delay when it comes to updates. So it is likely that one's application is approved upon PPR but it is only updated when CoPR is printed.

One question, do you say any word like "approval date" on your PRV or CoPR?

hmmm. Only question is how airlines are finding out the exempted CoPR holders while boarding? Are they looking for From date in PRV or the PPR email?

I agree with
If you can raise one but thinking logically application is approved when passport is stamped. There are still chances of application rejection after PPR if IRCC finds some discrepancy in original passport sent and passport copies shared online while creating PR profile.
I agree with your logic. I just need to know approval date is represented in their system since that is how border staff is gonna look at.

Yup I'm trying to get hold of Aair Canada to ask how are they establishing the approval date..
The IRCC agent said that anyone who can see your file in the system, can see that your approval date is March 12th (in my case).

I agree with you. The airlines agent at the airport will check the COPR issued date (mentioned on COPR). The PPR mail is no proof of actual approval.

Did you land recently? And airline checked your COPR date only?
Yes, I landed on May-14. In my case, the airlines agent just checked the PR Visa (not the COPR), but that also has the same date as COPR issued date.

And it also depends on which airline you take. I don't think airline employees will likely to know the details of all nation's border policy. A visa is all they know almost of the time.
