Understood but can I just raise the webform for an extension of coPR (My CoPR expires on Jun 15). Would they extend it, since the border is US-CAN border is closed till Jun-21 for nonessential travel. Or should I just fly (as flights are running from NYC to Toronto) as I have seen ppl in the forum mentioning that one can travel on CoPR
You should have received an email which says folks with COPR issued before 18 March can travel. Border on Canada side is not closed for them.
You can decide to not go now and raise webform

What do you mean by uncertainty of reentering USA ? You have an active H1B stamped on your passport right? U plan to cross by land or air?
My H1B is expiring and even if it was not, I am not sure CBP would allow me to reenter.
But it seems folks are coming back on H1B visa and it is allowed.

But nobody knows if the administration passes a new law that restricts the entry of H1B coming into the United States especially when you are stuck in quarantine in Canada.

Hey guys!
My COPY expires mid June. i raised a webform on 16th May stating "I am unable to travel due to the lockdown imposed in India on account of Covid-19. Please confirm the process shall i be unable or unwilling to travel within the expiry of my COPR".

I received this response today.

Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

The Government of Canada is closely monitoring the new coronavirus (COVID-19) and its impact on IRCC clients.

Until further notice, most people cannot travel to Canada, even if they have a valid visitor visa or electronic travel authorization (eTA).

You can travel to Canada or be permitted to enter Canada if you are:

In any case, if you're travelling by air:

  • You need to pass a health check conducted by airlines before you're allowed to board your flight,
  • Anyone who shows symptoms of COVID-19 will not be allowed to enter Canada by air.
When you arrive in Canada by air or land, we'll assess your health before you leave the port of entry. You must have a plan to quarantine for 14 days when you arrive in Canada. This is mandatory, even if you have no symptoms. If you don't have a plan, you'll be quarantined in a facility designated by the Chief Public Health Officer of Canada.

We invite you to consult the How the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is affecting immigration, refugees, citizenship and passport services page to answer your most common questions about travel restrictions and exemptions.

We understand that these measures will affect several IRCC clients. Please be assured that we continue to closely monitor the situation and provide you with the most current information as the situation evolves.

For more information on the situation and to receive up-to-date information, we invite you to verify our website.

We hope the information provided is helpful in assisting you with your enquiry.

We would also like to suggest the following online services that might be helpful to you with any immigration, refugee and/or citizenship future requests:

MY CONCERN IS - This response seems to different from what i've read on this forum. Most people have received a rather comforting response stating " they have forwarded the extension request to the relevant office. Please be assured that your application will not be refused if you are unable or unwilling to travel as a result of the Covid -19 pandemic"

Should i have explicitly stated " please extend my visa " in the webform? Also my file was processed at New Delhi, however i raised this webform to CIC Canada. Is this response okay? Has anyone else received this response ? Should i raise another webform to Delhi or Canada stating i need an extension so that they mark/re-open my profile.

My understanding is you got this response since your COPR hasn't expired.
Once your COPR expires you might get the other response ...i mean the more comforting one.
Please don't get anxious with these generic replies.

Hi everyone! Could someone share recent experience in transiting through Frankfurt, Germany airport to Canada in case if you:
1. enter from outside the Schengen area;
2. not citizen / resident of the EU, UK, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland.
What documents German authorities may request or whether they may disallow such transit.
Thanks in advance.

My medical again says passed on May 19,2020(They did not request any re-medicals). They haven't mentioned anything about extension. But profile has been changed from approved to in progress. Anyone here who is in the same situation as me?
What did your medical say prior to this?

Hello ,
I got a mail that your profile has been updated on my registered e mail Id. When I logged into my IRCC account to check my application , it was showing in progress. My country of origin is India .
I sent webform on 20 April and the profile was updated on 22 . So effectively two days.
As for logging into your account, you will require details of your IRCC account , there is something called as GC key and a series of security questions . You may take those details from your consultant, I suppose.
Hi. Did they update your medicals or what is the current status of your application. I raised a webform about my inability to travel. They re opened my application and the status changed from approved to in progress. My medicals was updated as well saying I have passed the medical exam. They did not ask for re-medicals or anything? Did they issue new copr after re-opening your application?

My copr expired on May 12, 2020. I raised a webform to let them know I cannot travel due to the pandemic. A case officer had reopened my application and profile was updated with medicals as passed. It says Medicals passed on May 19,2020
