I sent off for GCMS notes a month ago and have just had an email to say that IRCC have requested a further 90 days to process this kind of request.
Just letting you guys know in case anyone was thinking of requesting them, the notes may take some time.
I got the same response.

Hey folks,

Long time lurker. Just thought I'd share the info I have, even if it's not exactly what I was hoping to hear. I sent a webform last week and got a response yesterday.
  • The eligibility review has not been initiated.
  • The security background verification has not been initiated.
  • The criminal background verification is valid.
File is currently located at the Case Processing Centre - Ottawa, Ontario

I just got an update on my BOWP application; got a letter stating that my biometrics are valid for 10 years! Is that a good sign? I applied for BOWP March 20th, and my AOR is Feb 8th.

I just received request to pay RPRF. AOR is Feb 8. PNP-O. I haven't sent a webform yet, so I don't know the details of my application progress. Fingers crossed, it will move faster going forward.

Btw, today is my birthday. Wish me a happy birthday.

From what I’ve read, if you are in Canada or ever applied to come to Canada before and have done biometrics at one point, that biometrics is valid for 10 years, which means if you are applying for TRA or Work Permit, you don’t need to give a new biometrics. But for your PR application, you have to give new biometrics every time you apply for PR

Hi guys,

CEC Inland
AOR Feb 17

  • The eligibility review is valid.
  • The security background verification has not been initiated.
  • The criminal background verification is in progress.
Furthermore, we verified the information you provided and can confirm that your file is currently located at the Central Intake Office – Sydney, Nova Scotia.

I saw that most of the time they approve the criminal background first but mine is still in progress even though the eligibility is valid. Any thoughts?

I had exactly the same answer (except for the office, which I did not ask); in my case I assumed that they did not start the security because I was unable to give Biometrics.
FWS Outland (but I spent 1 year in Canada before, I do not know if it makes any difference)

I got an answer to my webform:

  • The eligibility review is valid.
  • The security background verification is valid.
  • The criminal background verification is in progress.

I guess the criminal background verification is on hold because of the biometrics.

We are processing your application. We will send you a message when there is an update or if we need more information from you.

Latest update:
