Some VAC are close and some are open. It depends on the Country your local VAC is situated.

-Canadian government is working but at reduced levels. When you say "paris office" they have the lead, but other offices involved too (eg in Canada) and other departments. Some offices abroad may have very few staff working but they may find time to do some work on immigration files.

-VACs are not canadian government and have to follow laws of country of operation (unlike embassies).

So it's entirely possible for someone to get a letter for next stage but if that next stage has to be done at a VAC (as some seem to be waiting for), it's stuck at that stage for all intents and purposes.

Is anyone else still stuck at "Medical results have been received." with their process?

They received our application on September 24. We haven't heard back anything since early Jan and that was that they received the medical results.

We inquired online about the status in early Feb and they said the process is still ongoing and within normal processing times. But didn't mention anything else.

I have no idea why we're almost 4 full months since they confirmed the receipt of our medical results and there's been nothing since. Edit: We did get an email on Feb.1 talking about 'we're happy to announce free pre-arrival services, etc
