May I ask this group (please don’t take this as an attack) but Why are you guys raising webforms if you applied in January? Like it’s supposed to be 6 months or less and may be different now with covid. dont you guys think if you stop overloading IRCC with unnecessary status checks since they already have limited resources they will process faster? I feel people with real issues or concerns that actually need the webform may now have to wait longer. Think about it! Thanks
I don't know about others but personally, I'd like to get some updates because I do want to make sure that everything is in order and progressing. There have been a lot of cases where IRCC has outright rejected applications without any warning or ADR/PFLs and that could have been the last chance someone would have had at immigrating, especially with the CRS cut-offs getting higher. In other cases, IRCC could have moved your file to an office that was notoriously slow in processing. Or in contrast, one that was really fast.
So for one, it would ease anxiety. Two, you would be proactive and make sure you take any action necessary in case there were issues that you would not have known if you didn't raise a webform (because again, IRCC will not always be so kind as to even warn you if there was an issue with your file). Three, if you know what VO your file is at you would get a general sense of how much longer your file would be processed (obviously each case is different but you would have some sort of idea at least).
And then based off that one could decide if they need to order GCMS notes or not.
Just my two cents.

Hello everyone, I received reply from the London Visa Office against webform raised for application status. The reply was (Please be advised that your application is pending review. You will be advised with additional details once that review is completed or in the event additional information is needed. )

I wanted to ask fellow members, does the reply indicate my application is under review required or is it just waiting for a review by an officer under normal procedure. Thanks

Seems like a very generic reply. You can mention specifically eligibility, security and criminality status while raising webform next time.

Background check: Your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check. >>> This is a good sign, probably you will have to go back few pages to find out why.

The PR application will be reviewed based on what you have submitted as part of PR submission. Furloughed job status would not matter as Employment is still considered valid. Issue will be for folks who lost their job and have submitted the job offer to prove arranged employment.
