i am not sure how to tell one is stronger than the other! i think i read somewhere that you can apply for both is that possible?
in my EE profile tho, i said i am a single cause my partner is already a citizen here. I don't know if i should apply for EE as well or i am not allowed to....
It will be misrepresented on your status single. Check what if you are misrepresented with IRCC.

Hi.
I applied in january and got my AOR in march. I applied for OWP along with PR but now my visitors status expires on may 25th. I was expecting my OWP till then but since it is very uncertain now, I am not sure if I should or I can apply for an extension.

Hi guys,
I sent in my spousal application on January 26th along with an application for OWP. Application was marked as received a couple days later.
My visa ran out on February 2nd.
I received my receipt for my application yesterday, April 15th, and an application number.

As you know everything went awry with this Covid.
My questions are, will I still need biometrics in order to get my OWP application processed? and secondly, do I have any kind of implied right now with these applications on the go, and even so, can they still send me back to my country due to the application not being processed due to the pandemic and my visa not being valid?
Thanks for any help.
Hi there! You sent your application on 26th, but when did the package get delivered to IRCC? Thanks!

She has implied status if she applied PR+OWP and at the time her application was received, she had valid status. So would be okay as long as the application is not returned. You can decide to apply for extension as a precaution
Thank you Bud, we did apply for both in Jan. the OWP was returned for insufficient funds, that why we were a bit worried she didn't have implied status. we returned it and now we were able to link it. so i guess all is good !

Hello everyone, I still haven't received my AOR. The application received on January 31st. I wonder if there is anyone else in a similar situation?
my sponsorship application + my husband's PR docs + work permit delivered on Jan 7th. I (sponsor) got AOR on March 3. my husband got no email. I got another AOR yesterday, saying the same thing that they received my application on Jan 7th. I extended my husband's visitors visa. I applied on Jan 3rd. they processed it and approved it on March 17 (after biometrics were done and request for medical sent out). on Mar 25 they confirmed that the medical exam has been passed. Visitor record arrived a few days after.. However, no movement on my husband PR + OWP application. nada!

Hello everyone,

Thank you for all the valuable information that is here in this forum. I am new here and I have few questions/concerns and will appreciate anyone's input.

Basic background:
Me and my bf applied for express entry in 2019 and he got approved and mine was rejected (WP expiring September 2020). We have been on same address since 2017, we are in total 3 people living together, we were all in the same program back in college. Me and my bf were extremely good friends until we started dating each other in mid 2019. After spending a lot of time to know each other and talking to our families we have decided to get married in the near future.

We are looking into sponsorship options and I have been talking to few lawyers and consultants with everyone saying different things. Here are my questions and concerns.

- We are both Indians and we know how wedding are in India. Currently, with covid-19 nor can we travel back home and neither can we have big celebrations. My question is, is that okay to get a civil ceremony done as we believe it is the right time and step for our relationship and our parents wants the same. Also, in our culture dates are suggested by the religious preach. We spoke to few marriage officiant and they are ready to do the ceremony with only 5 people present. We will be using this marriage certificate in our sponsorship file, is it explainable to the officer that due to covid-19 restrictions civil ceremony was done? Later, when restrictions uplifted we will be hosting a small celebration here in Canada and later getting married traditionally in India too.

- I understand that OWP program with sponsorship applications is expiring on July 31, 2020. Can I still apply for OWP if I am filing after that date? Does someone knows if this program will be extended?

- What kind of documents can we use to show the genuineness of our relationship?

- One local lawyer said that civil ceremony for Indians is a big red flag and that it looks like marriage of convenience. What are we supposed to do with this whole covid-19 situation then? Cant we explain this to the officer why civil ceremony happened?

Please help with any of the above questions, I have been in so much stress lately and would really appreciate some honest input and recommendations guys. I thank you in advance.

Hi, My application received on Jan 31 2020, applied spousal sponsorship. but did not put an application for OWP, since my spouse has OWP till end of July 2020. Due to Covid-19 application process is very slow. now iM worried that my spouse OWP will expire before PR approved. So, now i want to apply for OWP. how can i apply now? is it the application IMM 5710E i fill? i assume fee will be $255. what are the other documents should i keep it with? where should i send the application? is it edmonton office or mississauga (same as pr spousal application)? in the application form the number 3 question is confusing , 4th option is different than the application guide. I, confused which option should i choose? please help me. any little information much appreciated. Thank You.

Today I got my OWP application back due to "Insufficient processing fees" I paid 1195 for both PR and OWP! 1040$ for the RR and all fees related to, and 155$ for OWP!! but it says insufficient !! Does anybody know about this issue? the link in the paper doesn't show the OWP processing fees!

Does anyone know if you need to do anything with your personal belongings while waiting for OWP, such as reporting to CBSA that you are still in Canada on implied status waiting for OWP and needing to extend the temporary importation of your belongings?
