Next course of action is to wait patiently until your visa office becomes fully operational. Since India is under lockdown, they will understand your inability to travel. There is no need to submit any kind of proof. If you still don't feel satisfied, you can submit official notification issued by DGCA to suspend travel till May 3. You can also attach some kind of communication with minister of aviation that flights been suspended.
Thanks. That's helpful.

Thanks for sharing experience.

When they asked for vulnerable living in the address? Are they okay for us to share the place with another person like say a airbnb host? Obviously we will be isolated for 14 days?
Would think living in an Airbnb with the host would not be a quarantine plan unless they have a separate nanny suite with their own bathroom and kitchen. Staying your own AirBnB would be acceptable. Surprised the host would be agreeable and you can still stay with a host. The host would have to quarantine with you if you were just staying in a room in their home. That isn’t quarantining when you are exposing another person. Would recommend booking your own AirBnB unless you want to end up in the forced government isolation.

As has been said by many here, there is NO REASON for you to feel worried.

The rule states an amount of money per person. You already have more than that. Even after spending some from your previously disclosed amount which was much higher than the minimum requirement.

Rules have some basis correct? And it is not difficult to imagine that the principal behind PoF (Proof of Funds) is to ensure the financial well-being of a new immigrant. To avoid him or her from getting into monetary issues so that this new immigrant can settle down and assimilate as is reasonably needed.

At the border POE / airport officers might ask PoF evidence. And why would they ask to see more than what the Canadian government stipulated as reasonable amount of money to sustain yourself?

Makes sense now...hope you are able to relax. There are so many other worries to worry about buddy - don't let this rattle you! ;)

Wish you all the very best!
I really appreciate you taking the time to explain. Thank you.

The anxiety got the better of me. I hope things turn out well for all of us!

Hi guys, just to update you on my landing process yesterday.

Travelled with 3 dependants from London Heathrow Airport via AirCanada to Toronto for soft landing and staying for 3 weeks, upon checking in at Heathrow they had to verify by ringing CIC to know we are allowed to travel with our COPR and the process took just about 10 minutes.

The plane was reasonable full but social distancing was in place and be prepared to fill a landing card which will ask of where you will be staying , upon arrival at Toronto we were given a Convid-19 form to fill which ask for details of where we will be isolating, then proceeded to a desk to drop the landing card and was asked general questions like purpose of trip,if we have any symptoms and where we plan to isolate.

Afterwards we proceeded to the main entry point, this is where the officer asked me about where we plan to isolate, if there is any vulnerable living in the address over the age of 60, how much money I have with me then we submitted our passports/ signed COPR docs and was asked to go have a sit for him to process them which took like 15 minutes.

Overall, it was a stress free experience but what I observed was each officer we met warned us sternly about the 14 days isolation and the repercussions if we violate it like fines and possibility of jail sentence. No Joking about this, no walks, groceries and one particular officer said we will check you up at this address and must meet you all four at home

So that’s all I can remember so far but will be happy for questions.

All the best to you all.
Hello Jyyde! Thanks a lot for sharing your landing experience. Did they see your tickets and ask you about your return? I mean, is there anything like they are rejecting soft landing??

If somebody lands in Montreal, and then have a connecting flight to Toronto, it should be fine, right? The 14 day self-isolation will be done in Toronto

My third booked flight for 5 May got cancelled. There are very sleek chances of me flying to Canada now within my CoPR validity. Someone tell me that I will get an extension.

Oh Virus! you are bad! very bad!

@jyyde thanks for sharing your info!
Am surprised the flight wasn't completely empty. What is your plan for return after your 3 weeks? Did anyone ask you about it, or do you foresee any potential issues (like questions from CBSA about what is in effect a soft landing) with returning after the isolation?
Yes I think AirCanada must have sold seats to some other airlines as there were other airlines passengers on same flight.

We plan to move finally within the next 18months, just told him we have to return UK to prepare for final move and he never said anything further, just said we need to spend 2 years out of every 5 years to keep our residency.

Hence, I don’t see any problem soft landing, I felt there was a need to come and see the country before move which is a valid reason.

Can you see your ECAS status changing after landing?

Hello, congratulations on your landing and welcome to Canada!

Did your landing officer ask any questions regarding your future travel arrangements to your province? Did you have any issues with staying in Toronto during your soft landing in light of your provincial nomination?
No he didn’t ask any direct questions despite my main province is Newbrunswick, he was just more about our isolation plan and need to be home for 14 days.

I don’t think it’s an issue really, you can have two addresses like one for Ontario and one for your province, with that u just say u are only landing in Ontario to self isolate before you go to your province. You can use family or friends address but they must not have a vulnerable living in the house.

Hello everyone, I have heard that Ontario has declared a state of emergency till 12th May , it doesn't mean that we won't be stopped from entering or landing in Toronto during this time frame?
Incoming flights will still be allowed in Toronto right? I have to make important decisions based on this.a reply would help me a lot. Thanks
Yes that won’t stop incoming flights landing, I just got here yesterday from UK and I tell you this city doesn’t look like they are under lockdown compared to UK, just go ahead with your plans and you will be fine.
