Nice, may I know what happened to your friend? He has more than 4 months with his close work permit? He was laid off? And found a new employer with LMIA? Thanks
No he applied within 4 months and by that time he worked, during the time of waiting his company shuts down because of the virus and then he's laid off. He got his fn after he submit his application but he still got an open work permit.

The only way you can qualify for a BOWP with a PGWP is if you have an Express entry application in progress and not a PNP PR application in progress.

https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=676&top=29
If you applied for the Provincial Nominee Program on paper
Who can apply
To be eligible for a BOWP, you must:

  • live in Canada (Quebec not included)
  • have a valid work permit that expires in 4 months or less
  • be the principal applicant on your permanent residence application
  • be approved in principle for permanent residence
  • have no employment restrictions as a condition of your nomination
Website says if you have no employment restrictions you can apply for BOWP or am I reading it wrong?

*Your application is “approved in principle (AIP)” if:

  • you have received a letter from IRCC stating that you meet the permanent residence eligibility requirements, but
  • you still have to pass the medical, security and background checks for you and, if needed, your family members.

You are correct!

You can apply for BOWP if your PNP nomination isn't tied to any company.

I'll advice you to verify to see if your PNP certificate has an employer restriction on it

Today in my gckey it changed to "Make sure you read your messages and take action when we ask you to. This will help move the application process along." From you may not hear from us for a while.

Can anyone explain why?
