I shifted to Canada in December 2019. And since then I have applied to more than 500+ jobs, but couldn't find any job.
Does Government of Canada have any assistance available for those people???

Well then I’d probably either look in different locations for jobs , and support is called welfare, only if you’re PR Citizen

When offices open you should seek the help of a career Counsellor. They are available for free from the government. You should have been able to find some sort of employment if you have been asking around, networking and applying for jobs. Assume you were open to a variety of jobs to keep you going and looked within Ontario if not throughout Canada. Welfare is not a lot of money so getting a job even with minimum wage is better. Unfortunately there is a shutdown in hiring in December to the beginning of January so December wasn’t a great time for newcomers to arrive.

One thing missing in this post is what the OP does for a living ? MAybe knowing that people can make some useful suggestions where to either look or move to

You aren’t answering what you did to try and find a job and whether your expired other areas of Ontario. What is you profession/field of work? Did you apply to other jobs just so you could have money coming in? Have you applied to grocery stores or distribution centres right now? Have you networked? Have you gone into meet employers even if they will be survival jobs? You can apply for welfare but it is not a lot of money so you would be much better off with a minimum wage job. There are companies still hiring. Someone one on this forum was going to apply for CERB but had an interview and got a job to help him ride out the lack of work at another job. Sure he did the calculation and the money he received was better working than not working.

Hi Riddhimak14.
My brother is in same situation as you are ..he came in dec 2020 and was unable to find jobs in either his field (IT) nor any survival job. We are unsure if he can apply for the COVID 19 emergency relief

Unfortunately he doesn't qualify since he did not lose his job due to COVID-19.

Yes, I have applied to all the possible jobs.
But seems like I am Over-Qualified for jobs here.
I have completed Master's and also have 5+ years of experience into administration.

Due to which people are not taking me in !!
And OBVIOUSLY I want to work, but you won't understand the pain of being jobless for 4 months and being on debt to pay the rent also!
So its easy to just point out !!

Many people have lost their jobs. I lost mine after close to three decades at one job. I had bills etc to pay as much as anyone .I couldn't find something that paid as much, so I got a job slinging packages at a freight forwarding . Did I like it ? No Was it hard work ? Hardest I've ever worked .But it paid my bills until something else came along . Sometimes one has to lower their expectations or goals ALOT for a time period. This period during the pandemic would be such a time

When moving to Canada you should have had savings to prepare for 6 months of unemployment. Moving in December is not really a great time to move because hiring essentially shuts down until mid-January except for temporary jobs related to Christmas. I am not saying it isn’t hard to immigrate. It also doesn’t always make sense for everyone to immigrate especially if they are not In an entry level position and have good jobs in their home country. Many have arrived in Canada and found jobs before. Some have had to move to other areas of the country or have done jobs that allowed them just to pay the bills. As I mentioned you likely qualify for welfare but not CERB. Would also consider the various shipping companies, grocery stores, distribution centres, etc.
