I am unclear about the travel restrictions they're referring to. Did they mean the ones imposed by Indian Govt during this lockdown? Or, is it the restrictions imposed by Canada Govt before exemptions were put in place?
Not that I know as a matter of fact but mere guess would be:
Since its the Delhi, India Visa Office, their FaceBook message post - it is likely taking into consideration both the local government directives and Canadian travel directives/exemptions.

Picking or writing with just anyone of these two factors would be bit short sighted and clearly unhelpful for making decisions for when to travel, what actions to take for delays or expired PRVs etc... no?

Me again - Do you you think they will let me board a second plane for Ottawa or they will ask me to do the isolation in Toronto. I will be heading to Ottawa but I will have a short transit (1 h) in Toronto.

So as far as I'm aware you can continue to travel to your final destination, providing you have no symptoms. However again the rules also apply you must not take any form of detour, including visiting a supermarket at any point. You are only permitted to transit to your final location.

As a rule of thumb, I personally would never have a connecting flight with only one hour turnover, never mind in the current situation. I was held up at immigration for nearly an hour alone.

They might ask for latest PCC and can do security check again. BTW do somebody knows what is the validity of security check. I saw in some other site, it is mentioned as 48 months.
Yes. They can ask for PCC. But they shouldn't. We are all sitting in a lockdown what can we do LOL.

As an fyi some folks who filled the web form requesting extension have heard back from IRCC. However I only received an acknowledgement from them, stating that my request is under processing and an officer will let me know. I had written on 11 March, while the acknowledgement was sent on 17 March. My Mom's PRV expires mid-May..so still have some time.

I would want to avoid going through medicals again...firstly the the process might be about 6 moths or so and moreover, we dont know how safe it will be to engage in medical services back there.
Medicals process would be for 6 months!!Really.Whole express entry processing takes 6 months dear.If u remember our medicals were updated in around 1.5 month.max 2

I was going to mention this, please everyone make sure you have enough time in transit between your connecting flights to deal with all the queries and verification which will occur.

To add to what you mentioned about insufficient time gap of an hour for the next flight to Ottawa - cannot imagine this being feasible.

But: something else just occurred to me...considering she would have already completed her landing and then proceed to checking for the Toronto Ottawa domestic sector, is there any likelihood of being asked if "have you traveled overseas in the last 14 days" - answer would be yes. Hence isolation applies? which restricts "public space access"?

@Soph971 Please do not let me put you in panic while more experienced members (I am not) might revert. I am only voicing a thought that crossed my mind - I have neither heard this from anyone else, nor do I say that it will happen. I wish you the very best!

By any chance did your airline offer to check your checkin luggage through to Ottawa direct? Finally as Bs65 points out the connection time is short. Very. Suggest amending.
Luggage would be checked through but given Toronto/Ottawa is a domestic flight then immigration/customs will be at Toronto so collect luggage at Toronto through customs and drop off at a connections desk. Hence one hour from an international to a domestic simply unrealistic even not doing a PR landing which could add an hour or 2.

What kind of health insurance we should have when entering Canada. Will they provide health insurance to COPR holders/ future PRs?

You generally have to wait 3 months to get a health card in most provinces, however ontario has removed the 3 month waiting period in light of covid.

Hi guys, I live in the UK and my COPR expires in late May so not quite urgent. But if anyone is recently flying to Toronto. Can you help by asking if I do a soft landing, flying there and come back to my country straight away(on the same day), without leaving the airport, do I still require 14 days isolation please?

UK government asks not to travel unless essential ( i guess getting a PR in Canada is essential for me?), airports are still running so I am not sure it is a good enough reason to not to travel and ask for an extension. I don't know anyone there and I would like to keep my job with the current situation too. So i would really like to find out the best solution for people like us. Thanks!

Hello everyone. Out visa expires on 1 May. We were booked for 20th April but KLM has cancelled its flight. Now with two kids, aged 1 and 7, I'm really really apprehensive about flying. As it is there are very few options in terms of flights and no surety whether they'll resume flying even after India lifts its travel ban. Wish they could have given the option of asking for an extension. On the one hand the safest thing to do today is stay home and then there is this deadline. Anyone else in the same boat. Can't we collectively ask for a blanket extension? Just the thought of flying two days in a row, from my state to Delhi and then onwards to Toronto makes me so very nervous. Don't know what to do!

This question has been asked before on this forum and a poster was going to ask CBSA specifically. The issue is that once you complete immigration/customs formalities you exit into the arrivals hall and then have to go the departures level to checkin for your return flight so in effect you are entering the country. Unlike a connecting flight where you could stay airside in your case the return is a completely separate flight.

Canadian government has also implemented an essential travel poilcy and whilst immigration is on the list of exemptions not clear how they will react to same day or one day soft landings as far as the quarantine rule is concerned. Common sense says it should not be an issue same day but the trouble is that you will always have an individual who says they will checkin straight away but then has time for an excursion outside of the airport so not so easy to police.

Not sure anyone has an answer or of course whether the 14 day rule would be relaxed by May, very unlikely I would think

As for airlines still running as you may be aware they are, BA for example, parking more and more planes ,potentially laying off pilots/crew so who knows what flights will be flying over next few months if simply not viable load wise. IRCC have published various guidance for people with travel issues but as often usual with IRCC the language often vague as opposed to outright saying anyone with COPR expiring next 3 months do not worry
