hello sir/mam,

I was an international student, who came to canada in 2017. due to certain financial problems i couldn't complete my course. i have done first visa extension on 20th July 2018, with all supporting documents and got extended till 30 November 2019.

but again, i couldn't complete the program, but has attended 1 semester. right now i have applied again for my study permit extension on 30 November 2019 with all documents. not sure about the update, it has been more than 3 months since i applied and haven't heard nothing.

right now, my fiancee was here in canada for studies as an international student in 2020 January intake. she is here for 4 year degree program, and has visa until 31 july 2023. and we got legally married under ontario city hall.

so now, i was planning whether to apply for SOWP. my concern or question to be cleared is, hearing on my story, will there be any consequences on applying for SOWP while on implied status. if so, should i wait until i hear a update for my study extension.

please someone respond ASAP or share thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Did you ever take non-scheduled semesters off? If so your study permit could have already been cancelled. Did you make sure your study permit was still valid before applying for an extension.

You can try to get an SOWP but they are not guaranteed.

Yes I have taken non-scheduled semester off. In regards to the valid study permit, I did filings with the help of an immigration consultant.

So he told me to, go to school, to enquire on whether I am expelled from school or not. But they haven't expelled me, and they gave me all supporting documents ( enrollment letter, transcripts, fee payment receipts) and so on.

Also, I appreciate your response. Can you also tell me whether should I apply for SOWP right now even before I get an update on my study extension.

Wgat you need to know is whether they reported you to CIC for not attending school like they were supposed to.

Have you lived together for a year? If not you don’t qualify to apply for SOWP.
