Hi all.
My common law partner From Iran who is here in Canada is convinced that a Permanent Residency application gets processed slower when it is a common law relationship then that of a married couple. Is this true?

We have already done a bunch of work on the application and we were going to send it out in two weeks. Is it worth getting a rushed marriage certificate in the next two weeks and redoing all that paperwork?

Thanks

No, it doesn't get processed slower.

Unless she was coming to Iran in the next 2 weeks and were actually getting married a marriage certificate wouldn’t be possible to begin with.
