wait! i thought it was only the PA that was interviewed ??

If i ever have to go , that complicate things a lot more. ugh. i already go around there in April but it's not always possible to fly like this.

Patvicto, they interview Sponsor and PA usually for inland sponsorships, since they are both already living in Canada, but for Outland sponsorship is the PA who gets interviewed, and what they tell you is that the Sponsor has to be available to be reached by phone, usually they don't call, buy you must be with your telephone ready to answer in case they call during the interview which usually lasts for one hour and a haft up to two hours.

So don't worry about having to travel and go where your PA country is, to be present at the interview, all they will ask you is to be ready to answer your phone at the same time PA is being interviewed.... Have a nice day

When you app was received by IRCC?
I'm an April 2019 applicant.

Application was received on April 15, 2019

Medical instruction sent on June 3, 2019

Medical passed on June 24, 2019

started processing application on October 28, 2019.

AOR1 received on January 28, 2020

AOR2 received on Feb 06, 2020

Good luck !!! The interviews are intense but go in confident and you will be just fine , ours was December and they spoke to my husband first and called me in after 20 minutes and interviewed us together . The questions were tricky but don’t show that you are nervous , be truthful and show your love for each other
All the best of luck , it will be fine
Thankyou, I'll try my best to not be nervous, I hope they don't get so tricky with me lol

Estimated remaining processing time: 12 Day(s)

Application received
97% complete

Gonna join the club select of the "over a year" soon... *sigh* it's really impossible to pass in less than a year with Mexico. Had hopes all the process long but the more i see things... it's NOT possible at all , no matter how clean and solid your app is.

Ty very much to IRCC that took 6 months after SA (March 30th) to send us to Mexico (Without explanations, no ADR nothing) to make sure we were to be going over... It was obvious ! Sent October 25th haha a real joke , we aren't in their schedule of processing yet i'm sure.

Omg I am joining this club too. 28 days remaining and no communication since Oct 4, 2019 when file was transferred. Ecas shows that they started processing Oct 28 with no AOR2 sent. I am very disappointed that this process is soo tedious and stressful. After my application passes the 12 month mark I am going to send in a complain and everyone should do the same in a respectful manner. Someone needs to know that this is not acceptable. Totally outrageous.

I happened to be there and went , she decided to speak to me

I know for outland the sponsor is not required to be at the interview but I was told it is really beneficial if both are there. I mean if they have an interview it is usually because they are unsure the relationship is genuine right? And if you don't show up for the interview then I was told it looks bad on the relationship for not going. I'm applying outland and decided it was worth the cost to go and be a part if it came to that.

Tricky meaning in our app we mentioned that our communication is in both languages , Spanish and English . She asked me a few questions in Spanish and I answered in Spanish , then she asked my husband the same in English and he answered her in English

It was definitely in our favour that I was there , but it’s not required for Outland

Which were the most common...usual or repetitive questions you received??? Long ago someone post some questions that they got..can you tell us,if it's not much asking ..the ones you can remember??thanks ahead
Asked my husband a lot about my family , names where they live , asked about dates of wedding and when we met . Asked what I like and don’t like about him and then asked him the same ... that was awkward lol, a lot of it was reconfirming what was said and in the app.

We are in Calgary too. The MPs have a back channel for getting answers a bit faster, but they can't speed up the process. Unfortunately, their back channels are suffering as well. My MPs office (Bob Benzen) told me that of the 4 senior agents that handle immigration enquiries (ALL OF THEM), 2 left, and now they are down to 2 agents until they train 2 more by the end of this month. So while my MP assistant used to get a response within a day or two, now, two Fridays ago she put in a request for a call back, was told she was #91 on the list, and as of last Friday she was #29 on the list, and she is still waiting. So the services seem to suck for everyone right now.

In terms of information they do seem to be able to get a bit more out of them than we can. For example, I couldn't get anyone to confirm our file had made it to Trinidad, but my MPs office was able to confirm that a week and a half ago when she called to request to speak to a senior agent.

I hope that helps explain what they can and can't do. They DO have a back channel, they can't change your trajectory.

Thank you, that's very helpful. I think I'll contact my MP on Feb 13th. That'll be the 15 month mark. It's also now been 6 months since the last communication I've received from anyone in Mexico (other then the web form responses we've received).

The thing is , its not about been genuine or not .. is a roundtrip to mexico during winter that is not in vacation timing. Thinking if i should warn them that i go at start of april instead .. so if they need infos it would be the best timing i cant leave work like this randomly nor she can as a doctor. Ugh i so hope us not to be asked seriously. But yup i'll be available for phone questions to complete the file
