Visiting family who are refugee claimants

The spouse (husband) had a 2 yrs visiting visa to canada that will expired before the end of this year which he had not used but was now contemplating using it to visit his family who are asylum seeker. As I said earlier the family have already been admissible in Canada awaitng hearing.The family have been in Canada for 1 year now, and the husband would like to visit them but the fear that if the spouse should travel to visit them it would affect outcome of their hearing. He would like to use the visa before it expired. My question is Can the spouse travel to see the family and woudnt it affect the outcome of their hearing? what is your advice
Actually, being in Canada doesn’t make them admissible. They are currently refugee claimants and technically have no status in Canada. Until they have their hearing, and receive a positive outcome, they are only claimants.
It is also quite possible that the husbands TRV was cancelled when they claimed asylum. He may not have the option to use it anymore.

Now that they are in Canada as refugee claimant and awaiting hearing, the husband who is in their home country should not make any attempt to travel to Canada with his Visitor visa to see his family. Are you saying if the husband make attempt to travel with his visa the Visa will be cancelled at the port of entry since the family have not done hearing
No, it’s not a criminal offence. But the government isn’t going to go out of its way to make claiming asylum as easy as hopping on a plane. Family member of refugee claimant, refugees and PRs should expect to be separated from family visits in Canada for extended periods of time. The thought process being that once in Canada, there is nothing to prevent a refugee claim (valid or not) being submitted by nearly anyone who enters. Refugee status is an exceptional circumstance, not a means for easy immigration.
The spouse TRV could be impacted because it can be suspicious that the spouse would also try to apply for refugee. TRV is for visitors not for people who wish to live in Canada.
I don't think the husband trying to enter Canada as well would have a negative impact on the wifes/families hearing, im assuming they would have all their proofs for why they needed asylum.
I totaly diasgree with most of the submission here.
I know of a family who all got their TRV together but only the wife kids travel to seek refuge, the man needed to clear some things before joining them.
She got in, even went to school while waiting for her hearing, then got a job before her husband joined them.
There was no issue whatsoever.
In real life it doesn’t exactly work like that, wish it did, but it doesn’t, and especially in the tricky realm of immigration
The optimum word is it “ could “affect them,they are not saying it “ would “affect them .

Some people get caught for speeding , some don’t , same thing.
Some people don’t meet their R/O and get stopped at the border
Some people don’t meet their R/O and make it thru the border
You can’t use one persons experience and say that it’ll apply to them .

Unfortunately this is one of the consequences of filing for asylum. Many countries will assume your family members are seeking asylum as well. Your best option is to travel to a 3rd country when you get protected status using an RTD,
Hello, I am just curious about how the visa is canceled. Did your family have a multiple entry visa? Why you say the visa has been canceled? Someone put a stamp on the visa in the passport? or they figured out when they tried to come for the second time?
