Guys, starting to think they do on purpose to make some couples crack up and breaking to prove their point that a good number of apllications are not as genuine as they pretend to be. They know the horror we live , but i think its made as it to see if you really vslue to wait for your couple to be united in canada. Saw some couples just completely give up too ... is their objective. Secretly but seems like.
Really people give up?? I will never give up to the opportunity to be with my husband to make a family..to finally be happy together !!!!!!

I agree. It has been very hard on us - especially because Cuba is not known for it's great telecommunications. My husband and I have known each other for 10 years - before Cubans had access to email and cellphones on a regular basis, and communication can still be very sketchy at times. Video calls are few and far between for example (he lives in a rural area of the country). We are both suffering from depression, we can't plan anything at all, and the depression means we don't laugh and joke around like we used to - so there is a vicious circle there. I don't know if we would ever survive and appeal process, and that is not out of a lack of love, it would be about managing the depression of another couple of years apart. We are 15 months into this process and it's pretty much unbearable. Our wedding anniversary is on Saturday and we never imagined we would be apart again. I can't fly down there becuase we are awaiting an interview date and if the date comes soon I wouldn't be able to afford a trip to Cuba AND a trip to Trinidad. So it's all a waiting game and we keep hedging our bets that something will happen "soon". Pure sucktitude.

Hoping that the CBC interview does get published tomorrow and that someone takes notice - for ALL of us!
I also read in the CBC this weekend about some of the federal computer systems being 60 YEARS old and at the point of critical failure. Willing to bet that the immigration software and hardware is among that group. I don't envy the staff working on our files.

No I didn't..I swear I didn't see them!!.in me there are stronger the wants of being together than giving up
Every couple is strong we all want to have that chance to live together i will never give up on that chance on my side either but.. its indirecly what they want. Fragilize couples so they are easy to keep on wait or weak at interviews. The thing is ... this program is not benefits for the country itself and its there as for their image over the world " see how we are cool in canada we welcome spouses and all in a year !" They are making enter who they want , period, and keep the others waiting to see if they gonna crack up. Everyone passing from a local vo knows its NOT the reality, we dont enter in 12 months. If their image gets stained they will just remove it and say now its not possible anymore instead of fixing it.

Look, my husband and I don't want to give up either. We are best friends - like two old shoes - you can't have one without the other. But at some point we *may* look at each other suffering, and because we love each other so much, we want the suffering to stop. If I really love someone, than I don't want them to suffer just because I am so selfish I want them to be with me at the cost of them leaving: their family, their home, their career, their sanity. That it is not love, that is ego.

Love is "I want him to be happy - whether it involves me or not." If my husband were to be hit by a bus tomorrow, and die, I would have so much guilt to know that the last year of his life he spent in a clinical depression - barely able to function - because of the stress this process had put on him.

This is without a doubt a cruel and heartless process. It is not for everyone. We should never judge those that give up as having had less love. Maybe they just cared more about their mental health.

They more care of their wallet , sponsorship is not benefits for canada is more problems added up... in their way of seeing things unfortunately. As i said its for their social image ., period. Nothing else, so you think they care on applicants mental health during it ? Not at all. The just drop the weaks and make pass the strongest at the end.

I don't like all this talk about family's and couples "giving up". We all have strong relationships. This process isn't for the faint of heart. If anything, this process has tested us and we have proven stronger than most. So on that note, I'm gonna try to steer the most recent conversation in a different direction..

I sent away for my GCMS notes on Dec 27th. I got an email this week and it reads:

"This is with respect to your GCMS Notes order. We have received a message from IRCC that your order will be delayed.
IRCC has sought an extension of 90 days beyond the statutory time limit of 30 days to process the request. Below is the email that we received from them.

I wish to inform you that, in accordance with the Access to Information Act, an extension of 90 days beyond the statutory 30 day limit is necessary to process your request. This extension is due to a large number of records or necessitates a search through a large number of records and meeting the original time limit would unreasonably interfere with the operations of the government institution.

Further information about the Access to Information Act can be found at the following web page:http://laws-lois.justice.gc.ca/eng/acts/a-1/

Please be advised that you are entitled to submit a complaint regarding the processing of your request to the Information Commissioner within sixty days of the receipt of this notice. The complaint form can be retrieved at: http://www.oic-ci.gc.ca/eng/lc-cj-logde-complaint-deposer-plainte.aspx.
Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us by email at ATIP-AIPRP@cic.gc.ca.

Sincerely,
ATIP Officer

I know what you mean..I understand,my husband is not eating healthy..had an stroke without consequences but he had it and all because of the stress we suffered from this process but he make me promess to not give up..to not lose hope..to stay strong...he says we are his family all what he has...and he is my all and I was never has happy as I am since we found each other...yes I understand that we can never judge the actions from the ones who give up...but that is why immigration does this things ..to prove us to prove our loves our genuine love...thanks for the words.
